In my case, when i gave them some coins, they warned me if the fucking cops were coming...

I'm ok with homeless people. I really feel that some of the more youthful homeless people can be more of a prick than the older hobos. Like all the "punks" downtown on queen st with those signs that have stupid shit on them like "if you've read this sign, you have no choice but to give me money". Once they asked if I had any spare change, and I really didn't, so i said sorry, no. So I walk off and I hear "fuckin cunt".

Ok whatever, thats fine, but if I don't have money, it's not my fault. If you want money from me you should try and stay on my good side rather than calling me a cunt. Most of these teenagers down town have moms and dads, and most of them don't come from a fucked up home or anything. They just feel that living on the street or under a bridge is much more exciting. I even know a few people who ran away from home and now live on the street, and they love it.

It's there call. I'd rather have a place to go to when it gets cold.

Oh shit once a hobo was cursing my friend and me in a mcdonalds. He was in the corner and he was cursing at us saying things like we're evil, and we're gonna get it sometime. He was very delusioned, and probably had mental problems, or maybe he was on a drug, but he was cursing everybody else to, so the police had to come because people complained about him to the manager of the mcdonalds. Even when me and my friend decided to leave he still kept going on about how we were cowards, and he kept going on and on.

There was another guy who asked for money to buy food and i was like "ill buy you a hotdog here" and he declined, he said he didnt like hotdogs. if i walk by and i am eatting cereal then i would give some to them. if the ask for shit nicely then i would give it to them.

there was a bum in town who would give away pennies to a charity and keep the rest for himself. i would drop a roll of pennies and a buck. hey he is doing a good thing. might as well help him out.

we have a guy who collects bottles. we keep a few plastic bags and fill up our kelp bucket. he apreaciates it and it saves me a walk to the store. i find it is embarressing carrying bags of cans.

if they work for it then they will get change from me.

all i know is that i am picky if one pisses me off and constantly ask for money i will bitch them out. i will make them embarressed and scared to ask me ever again.

i always look at the shoes you can tell. a lot of scammers out there.

globe and mail did an article about being homeless. he spent two weeks on the streets acted like a homeless people and found out a lot of information. two lawyers tagged teamed. fuck these guys do it for the cash and for the kicks. they would get a dirty blanket and scruff up their hair and sit thre and beg for money then the other one will come and take his spot. some make more money in a day then i make in 2 weeks. come range 60 to 500 bucks a day.

so i personally do not like giving out money only change about 50 cents in nickles or dines or pennies. i would buy a pack of socks and my lunch if i didn't eat it and give them food or socks. we all love a brand new sock feel. i only do that once a year and i would give my old mittens or gloves if i don't like them or i don't use them. i know how cold it can get in the winter time. it goes to charity but hey cut out the middle man why don't ya. at least you know it is going to go to someone who really needs it.

After your done pieceing and leaving this one crazy bum runs up to the wet paint and gets high off it.

Theres this other bum named Tony, who I guess is one of the most famous bums on the west coast, hes known throughout the entire bum underworld. Hes this 5 foot 7 inches mexican/native american who is known for beating up crack dealers and pimps, hes told me some of the craziest train hopping stories. That man gets so much respect.

As far as yards go...I have had a whole hellova lotta bums watch my back...they have been nice smooth greetings and meetings for the most part...
in the same breath...i should add that I have sprayed 2 in the face with paint and one in the eyes with mace kicked him in the awwhellnawdon'tkickthere and bounced...some are a bit scary late night yard style....and uhhhhhhh
Vandal Squad paid some random homeless guys 5 bucks each to call their toll free number if they saw anyone entering a yard in my old city...I had a peep get caught up that way....
I say people are people and most all are not so trustworthy.

As far as homeless people in general...some of the coolest and intellegent people I have ever met have lived on the streets...either traveling or situations arose...hell I have...

We go thru a ton of beer cans and bottles in this crib I set the recycling in a specific spot for this one old man...he's so nice...I set it aside so the other guys don't cash in on em...that's all for him..he goes by RiverBedFred haha...He makes these crazy men out of old rusty nails and forks and ish...

Pretty much I say help a brother or a sister out...a few dollars or some change can get lost in sofas or spent on papers to most of us...it means a whole hell of alot more to most less fortunate.........EVEN if that means it bought the liquor to take the edge off of the cold ass winter they are sitting and sleeping out in.

I know enough about drugs.

And that isn't a perm trip. That is just flashbacks. Sure you can have flashbacks, and think you're tripping, but you're not. Because contray to what you believe I'm pretty sure acid does NOT stay in your body.

I've been good, just hanging around down town seattle. I hate painting at the eastlake wall, that place was on thin ice a while back, I put my backpack down once and when I lifted it up I realized I had put it on a pile of bum shit. Ruined my day.

But yea when we have a spot in mind and theres some bum sleeping there, we try not to wake them, but if hes up or we woke him we just say "what up" let 'em know we're not trying to steal his loafers.

When I pulled a few overnighters last summer I felt like I was homeless, I was dirty, drunk, and slept on a bench right out infront of the space needle with the homie. But those were the funnest nights painting I ever had.

its true happened to a friend of mine. the first time he tried acid like when he was 15, he was all fucked up and he stayed fucked up for like a few days so he tried to comitt souicide and slit his wrists. it wasnt permanent but fuck being fucked up for a few days, not knowing whats going on? oh man thats fucked.

but alot of them choose to stay on the streets and beg
this last year has been a record for Montreal (51 homeless people died in 1yr)
sucks when ya think of it
Where i always go to take a beer with my friends there is this homeless lady with her dog, and the restaurant lets her in 3 times a day to eat free (breakfast,lunch and supper)
and they always have a huge supply of dog food for her dog (at least i hope its for em, if not im gonna question the meat sauce for the lasagna :lol: )

Once a bum asked me for some change to eat

i live in oraldno FLA. and its really hot down here in the summer. and one day it must have been 97 degrees out side and i went to 7-11 and i got a pepsi and gave it to the bum. and my friend was like are u tryin to kill him? that will dry his mouth out and make him more thirsty.

i dont give bums money the simple fact they go off and they buy alcohol. and they do stupid stuff like run after people. and we dont need that cause people will beat the bums up...

Your friends were right, if you want to feed a street critter, ya give him or her some Gatorade!
Quenches the thirst so they dont get dehydrated!

there was this black bum i saw one time..hahah he was the man, throwing out the best one liners just fucking around and shit sitting outside of this comic book store, i thought he was funny so i gave him a buck and he walked with me for a while..i asked him why he wasnt in a home and he told me because he was there for a while and there were people shooting up and smoking in the bathrooms and shit so he wanted to get away from it..i feel like beliving him but i dunno..so anyways he kept walking with me and was spitting out more one liners to couples walking the sidewalk and to this girl i was with so i gave him another buck and told him that he was the fucking man, i hope i see that guy again cuz i will DEF. hook him up. now there is this other bum that always sits under this huge ass green sleeping bag by the exit of the train station..i dont know him but i would like to, there is this lady in boston called THE DRED, we call her that because her hair flows like normal hair till the middle of her head then it turns into one huge chunk of dred that goes down to her ass. a couple of days ago i was walking with MERK and we saw this gothic bum on newbury st. in boston, he asked us for money but we had none..so he asked us if we were taggers and we said yeah and he was like DONT TAG MY TRAIN...and we said uhh..ok and left, asshole had like brand new hot topic clothes asking us for money..wack.

LONG STORY:



i was out painting the other night under a bridge by these tracks with a firnd of mine who doesnt paint. ive been there before and never seen anyone sleeping under the bridge. but this night there was some dude who was either intoxicated or crazy sleeping there. i was halway through my second burner when i hear this dude yelling "FUCK! scumbag fuckin fuckers shit bastard &%(#" which kinda scared me cause i didnt think anyone was around. so we spot him and are like whatever, we coulda pelted his ass with rocks but we arent easily offendable. so i finish up and walk about 50 yards to another pillar/wall.

im just about to outline a throwie and my friend happened to trun around in time to see this dude about 10 feet behind us and walking towards us. we hadnt heard him at all. my boy runs off before i know whats goin on. so i turn around and confront the guy, hes just staring blankly at me. i pulled out my knife and told him to beat it, but he doesnt move. so i just curse at him, pack my shit and leave.

i kinda wonder what would have happened if my friend hadnt have turned around in time.


as far as hitting them off with some change, i try to whenever i can. every little bit helps. even if the dude is spending my money on heron, i would have wasted it anyways too. plus if he gets money from me, maybe he wont get so desperate as to try to mug someone??

Tonight when I was coming home I stopped and chilled with my friend the
bum who lives outside of my apatment. We smoked a smoke and then we
were listening to my sterio. It's a cassette walman with a big speaker on it,

I chill with the dude all the time. He starts lookin at it real close and holding it in his hands. After a few seconds I asksed for it back. he puts it away, and I try to go to my apartment. He gets really volatile and he
trails right with me into the vestibule. I had to buzz my key card and he took that time to block the doorway into the building. He wouldn't let me in and he wanted my thing. So I ran to the dep next door and I told the worker. Next thing, the
bum comes into the store and tells me that he knows where I live and that he's
going to fuck me up. I'm holding my skate between us, and he tells me he's
gonna kill me. The store dude made him leave and he went across the street.
I went home, but he was staring at me the whole time.
This was my homie.
I've heard never to trust a basehead, and that is good advice. Crack smells.
I got my stereo, but now when I come home late, I'll always have an enemy
waiting for me.

bit off topic, but a freind of mine ended up doing 8 hits of acid or something rediculous, the dealer gave him the wrong thing, double wat he thought it was. Anyways, he went skating and ended up trying to fight all of his freinds and was really fucked up. Someone called the cops and when they showed up, he wouldnt let himslef be taken in. IN the end it took lik ^ or 7 cops to hold him down and hancuff his hands and feet. He woke up the next day in the rdunk tank with a hell of a hangover

My mom tells me storys about when i was younger and we lived in philly,
I was quite the chatty little girl, and i would talk to anyone who would listen.
The bums near our apartment became my friends
and theres this one story about how my grandmother took me out one day
for a walk and the bums didnt recognize her and they started
Following her and asking her where she was taking me,
my grandmother was freaking out.
And they were just looking out for me
I would also buy them cheeseburgers with my allowance.

I really dont like the notion that all bums are looking for drug money,
because thats not always the case at all
I was pratically a bum for about two weeks this summer
(Pointless fest & other things)
And me and a friend stayed up, found a fountain to swim in
and went spanging because we couldnt even afford to buy food.
Alot of people asked to look at our arms and such things.
Unfortunetly i did a scarification on my wrist so that made them think
we were druggin it, so alot of people didnt give us any money.

But a few kind people really did want to trust us and gave us 5$,2$ stuff like that.

I constantly give bums 5$ because if you were in that situation, wouldnt you want someone to give you a fucking break.

Who cares if you give them money for drugs, You'll get the money back.
And they'll die. Everyone gets what they want in the end.

So my view on bums? Live and let live. Its a shitty situation and im always willing to help anyone out,

Homeless people are exactly that, homeless, people.
Some people really don't belong there, as my uncle has made some of the best business partners by helping someone out that was under a bridge.
You should not treat them any differently than you would any other person.
However, it is understandable that they, due to their situation or possibly from mental disorders that they seem a bit off and may do something radical.
When they talk to you, just try to smile and talk to them, if they seem hostile, get the fuck outta there, run.

Some homeless people, as stated before, will actually be a lookout for ya.

Anyways, the title of this thread is kinda politically incorrect, not all homeless people are beggars.
