so i have been thinking. should i do the generic "first name-last name photography" or do something like a name? I would probably use my real name for things other than bands such as portraits and shots for the paper. but it seems like everyone nowadays does the name thing.

I'm thinking of Exile Photography, Insomniac Photography, or Dead Eyes Photography.

any thoughts?

nope its done with liquid emulsion and then developed like a regular B&W photograph.

I had to coat the canvas in polyurethane first to make sure the liquid emulsion would stick to the canvas.

really wouldnt use any of those except the 4th for a portfolio, most of them are kinda boring to me, you gotta get rid of that watermark in the middle of your images, if someone wanted your photo's they would just clone stamp it out, put it in the bottom right and ALOT smaller

you cant process HDR on a photo unless you have 3 different exposures homie...or you have 1 raw file

Whats complicated is understanding how to get the exposure you want in camera with one shot, not how much you play with it in post. pushing buttons and adjusting sliders in photomatix is not complicated, and being able to stack a couple images on the computer doesn't make you a good photographer.

you learn shit from trying other things, eg exposure lengths/aperture from trying light painting. so if you learn hdr, its another string to your bow, and any little thing you try adds to your experience.

let people have an open mind and try new shit, its up to them to decide whether they like it or not, if they do, fair play to them, i dont really give two shits if its played out aslong as not every single photo I see on this forum or any other forum is the same.

HDR is 'cliche' or whatever the fuck it is, but if i see a nice shot, i'm going to appreciate it. I'm not gunna look upon in disgust just because everyone else has tried it

HDR is lame because a lot of people take a shit photographs, and download photomatix in the hope that their shit photos will become better, and to the untrained idiot eye, they may look prettier, but deep down they definately are still shit photographs.

I'm not speaking about anyone in particular just in general.

If the amount of wasted time spent prettying up photos in photomatix was spent out taking better photographs in the field, then the world would be a better place.

edit- Buy a piece of thick plastic board and a squeegee. Lay ur prints face up on the board and squeegee off ur prints if those are water streaks ur talking about , it should get rid of them. if you still have water streaks once you dry it then just stick it back in the wash for a little and squeegee it again.

i just recently got back into photography and i shoot film. i want to be able to upload my shit onto the computer for some slight editing and for posting and shit but i dont have a scanner or anything, so when i got my film developed i asked if they could put my pictures on a disc too. but when i uploaded the pics onto my computer they looked like shit... really noisy. is this something that i can control with my film camera [there's no iso settings?] or is it just because i'm using a shitty cvs picture cd and they dont know what they're doing when it comes to putting photo's on a disc? any info would be really apreciated, i'd love to be able to contribute to the thread. thanks

so i've got a question and if someone could pm me and hit me with some knowledge that'd be awesome... i dont wanna clutter up the thread.

i just recently got back into photography and i shoot film. i want to be able to upload my shit onto the computer for some slight editing and for posting and shit but i dont have a scanner or anything, so when i got my film developed i asked if they could put my pictures on a disc too. but when i uploaded the pics onto my computer they looked like shit... really noisy. is this something that i can control with my film camera [there's no iso settings?] or is it just because i'm using a shitty cvs picture cd and they dont know what they're doing when it comes to putting photo's on a disc? any info would be really apreciated, i'd love to be able to contribute to the thread. thanks
