WELCOME TO! One of Biz' rare, but helpfull tutorials! : Making a Homemade glass bong.
The Tanqueray bottle is a poor choice to make a bong out of, unless your going to fit it with an inline downstem/diffuser.
You would need a bottle with a dip or curve in to keep the downstem diagonal.
On a flat glass like that, the downstem would have a poor seal with that.
But you can use exposy to keep the seal like that, but i dont reccomend it.

Drill bits! I have Many varying from 15mm to 1mm The glass/tile spade drill bits are the one to buy, for this, use a 10mm glass spade drill bit.

Diamond VS Carbide
Diamond is the best for this, Carbide is pot luck, they wear out, they can chip, chip your bong and crack it ect ect, its sometimes just not worth it.

Diamond Drill bits, Come various shapes, and range from 1mm from anything up to 50mm (but anything more than 12mm is useless for this) They look like this. -

Oh yeah, anothier thing is, Drill bits are easyer to rack than penny candys. if you wont carry em on them they fit through fences ect of garden stores ect ect.... Carbide bits are more avalable than diamond bits, but diamond bits are worth it.
Often a hard part, is starting off, i hand drill the starting groove (I think the term would be)
Dont press too hard! And definately, dont go too fast, slow to medium speed is best with a drill or it will vibrate and crack or just fuck up completely.
In fact, a hand drill is really good, because you have so much more controll of things, and you will never get damage/cracks because of it.
When pushing through the hole, do it much more gently, and slowly than all before hand, as its will chip/splinter the inside, and can cause a bad seal, so let the drill bit scrape away finely till you get a perfect hole.

Using the ball drill bit, drill slowly a hole in all the way through, this is for a reason.
Then with the Ring drill bit, drill around that hole, the hole inside rapidly reduces cracking and chipping, and gets a perfect cut.

FUCKING FUCKING FUCKING IMPORTANT!!!!!!!! :
You will want to fill the bottle with water (or sometimes wet sand) and spray the hole drilling with water, oh yeah! you have to do it every time it squeeks, because if it doesn't have correct luberication, it will clip in places and corrupt it all!!! Oh no!!!

Oh yes, also, you might want to Replace the drill bit if its old and you've made many bongs, they do wear out!
that is if it is a carbide drill bit, diamond drill bits are the best, and get the best cuts and blah blah :)

Its really good using a drill press when doing this, reduces shaking ect :) OH YEAH! Afterwards, you might wanna take a dremmel bit, or sandpaper, and lightly smooth the edges off, this is good for making it smoother in the edges and sealing ect.

Right! Now time for sealage!
Providing the hole you have drilled is 10mm! which is the universal grommet bong seal size! (oh yeah) You would wanna have a grommet in there!

There are two types of grommet. Some even come on chorded telephones.

The yo yo style is definately the best, for looks/seal.

Now, This is an option, which you dont have to have, but it just makes things alot nicer and, generally better for grommet sealed bongs.

A Glass part that feeds your downstem into the bong, also known as a female downstem part.
You can actually get these from alot of science shops, or you can cut a 9mm test tube with a lip to it.

Homemade bowls are fuck hard. FUCK FUCK FUCK hard to make. It took me a while to figure out how to make a homemade glass bowl.

Eventually i found out how.

Oh yeah, that wont work on pyrex (borocilliate) as the temperature wont be high enough.

And You can connect that homemade bowl with a (preferably 7mm) pyrex tube, with a 9mm glass/metal tube or whatever, work that bit out for yourself. but dont let it touch the ash whatever, as it will effect taste, im sure you understand.

Oh yeah! You can using a 1mm drill bit/ diamond drill bit drill diffusion holes into your downstem :)

Start small then work up. Make it out of plastic first, Working out how to make it in glass is very very hard. First you'll work to use teflon tape/large rubber grommets. Then working it beyond that will take alot of staring at it and going through shit in your cupboards and shops.
