Good first stuff, one thing i would change would be the space in the 'n'

Remeber to keep the same letter style throughout whatever your doing, for now it will make it look better

sick ish,
i don't think the top of the J follows the rest of your style. with the round type bars.
reminds me of sex without condoms, because of the k that isn't closed, and the fill keeps going like that.

actually redefine all of your J a bit, It's decent for a simple, but doesn't look as good as the K. j I think that bar that comes back inwards, and up, needs to be not so squished to it. and less fat.

looks like your on the right track. as for building with bars i'd say do all the bars the same consistency. and if your up to it do a whole alphabet with bars instead of just a few letters.

sellers - the way the L (or is it a j?) blocks out the o doesn't look good. and work on making the width of all the bars more consistent.
zestee - make the bars more equal. and change that A (at least i think its an A). and it looks like you got lazy when you got to the E because it is the worst letter out of the whole thing. maybe you should just go a LITTLE bit simpler.

TAPN - space it out a bit more, it looks too crowded.
Saor - The S is okay, but the other letters need a lot of work. The O should be more oval. The right leg of the R should be flipped. You see how it almost touches the bottom of the left leg? It should touch the top of the left leg just below the hole. Know what I'm saying?

You definetly have the right idea with the first one keep your letters the same size and consistency.
You kind of lost it with he second one remember too use bars!
You can really see that your letters were getting shorter through out the sketch.
Do what you did in the first one and just mark a line across to show the maximum height so you can keep it incontrol

crailtrap i digg the second and third one, fo shiz the third one, but the first looks weird since the h and o arent connected. the second one, the h's connection thingy i think iwudnt make it so small.

gumonshoe the r and the e seem to work well. on the o i think to make the hole a lil bigger. not really feelin the s and the n. keep the n's first bar normal, not with a lil "swoosh" lol. and the s just takes practice, they are hard

@Zane, keep the bars consistent. Like with your Z the bar on the bottom is a skinnier than the top one and it looks a little off. Otherwise you're making progress keep it up

@Craz, if that's a simp you need to get rid of everything and start it over. There's no bars at all. For a throw its not too bad just let the A breathe more and tweak the Z

Here bro! Drew this up not to show you up but to try to show you the importance of serfs on letter forms. You also want to be conscious about swing, the movement of letter form. Most of the time you want it to move in the same direction, ie... creating movement and motion. Connections come next. Be on the hunt for connections whenever you draw but letter form is the most important aspect of writing. As you find a letter form that you like your connection will become more clear. Keep practicing and find maybe one or two influences to bite from, if you try to bite from too many your shit just falls apart.

Close the gap in the H slightly I think.
Where the bar goes into the O and comes out the top, make it go with the bar of the O cause it looks like its coming out of nowhere at the top.

Ok, Ive fucked up the C and the curve is maybe too severe, or not severe enough.
Maybe I could have chose different bars. Who knows. Just to give you an idea of what I mean really.

yeah task, definitely take it slow, and try not to get frustrated.

i've been working on the very basics since i started posting here, and i'm just now producing stuff on paper that i wouldn't be ashamed to put on a wall. problem is, it doesn't come out on the wall how it does in my book. my can control is terrible.

what i'm trying to say is, graffiti is just like any art form, you don't go into a first year art class in jr. high and produce great work, it takes a lot of time drawing, painting, and processing things in different ways.

Its not like I posted this shit thinking "man i'm awesome, these guys are gonna love this shit!!!" I wanted to see what other people thought i should do to it to make it look better. I've been told to stop painting alot, every time it makes me wanna go paint more. Every time i go i make alot of mistakes... but i learn from them. I have very shitty can control and my sense of space on a wall sucks. I bet those will get better quicker if i actually paint stuff. My letters and shit will also improve because i am writing on paper as well. I figure i gotta learn to get better can control sometime, why not while i'm learning everything.

Perm, they were giving you good advise bud.
The piece needs alot of work even from toy standpoints.
The w is just plain ugly,the left fork of the y is wider than the right, the z is about four different widths on its own.the r looks like a diss proportioned p with an oversized kickstand and the line width on the d is inconsistant.
Now if yer gonna do your own thing and keep painting walls i would suggest that you do your layout first in your fill color or another very light color instead of black. That gives you the option to stand back adjust things and whatnot before adding your final outline. This one looks like ya walked up to a wall, smacked up a black outline,hit it with a weak fill then didnt finish it.
I would go back, roll that wall with some primer or killz and try again.

I also felt like rolling over it as soon as i finished it.

I did do my outline in the fill color first, i guess that you thought i didnt means really bad things for my can control... anyone got tips for improving can control, I thought doing stupid shit like this would help because I would try more lines. Pretty clueless when it comes to graf, just liked it for a long time and wanted to start. I'm not gonna stop painting, walls so you can stop telling me to.

most of the issues with that piece are not related to can control bud, they are down to basic letter structure. can cantrol can be blamed for bad fills, fuzzy outlines, drips where you want none, overspray where there should be cuts. cant blame different width letters on can control, the structure needs to be solid before anything else gets better, only way that happens is by repetition and listening to ideas from others, take them onboard and decide which ones you need to apply to your own work.

ignore the people who say dont paint, at the end of the day its down to you to decide what to waste your money or time on. whether you use walls or paper the method is the same, just one costs more and theres more chance of people putting you down if its in paint because your mistakes are viewed in public.

I'm not saying I'm the muts nuts now, but I improved 10fold after getting some better designs on paper, and now when I paint, I'm pretty confident it will look identical to paper, and more like what I want.

aecs, top one long lines need to be straighter and s needs a bit of tweaking.
bottom one i dont know where to start so i will leave it in the shark tank for others bud

aecs the top one is aight, simply keep your lines straight. and well the bottom one... ill give you that i knew instantly that it was a gothic type calligraphy but your just not ready for that yet the letter structures arent that solid looking to me

i really like the bottom one, seems like you could pull it off way better than the top one. But do a little somethin to that Z to make it fit with the rest.

ohh yea and on the J i would make the bar go across both sides on top of it, not just to the right or whatever

ok...you have the same problem i used to have...goin too big with the first letter. i mean look at it, that s is huge...the y is all cramped up in there. work on proportions...same height, width, etc...try and draw them exactly how they are....S, C, Y....then throw some of your own swag on there once you get that structure down. good luck

yea id say defs work on using bars (same width, height)
s' are always tricky tho, but keeping playing with it.
oh... leave the 3d gone for now (its wrong on the Y, btw). work on them letter-
structures first before movin on to fills, 3d, forcefields, etc
