View Full Version : Calligraphy Caps, How To Make Caligraphy Caps

i don't know if anyone else has tried this but i decided i wanted a caligraphy cap for tags. its really easy to make too.
i used a german outline but i'm sure you can use any caps to do it.
using an exacto knife or something quite sharp, cut a slit in the cap where the hole is so that instead of a hole, you have a line. its not perfect but you do get some pretty nice tags out of it with some lines being thick and some really skiny, giving it the caligraphy effect.
has anyone else tried this or something similar?

there are no calligraphy caps I don't think, you'd probably need to get some Krylon Fusion Cans that come stock with a fan cap, that's good for making calligraphy type letters. They spray a flat line

look for the special krylon cans that say "bonds to plastic" those have calligraphy caps/fan caps.....they work great with those really small krylon cans.....flat black.

and they have normal inserts, fit n anything from walmart to montana

lots of trash right here.....
cmon just a cap, why have to dissing each other?

Okay back into the topic:
Yes he is right cutting with a knife CAN make a calligraphy cap,
but it's a bit different, it is "kind of " calligraphy cap but not "absolute" calligraphy cap like those stocks caps you get from walmart
The effect is more natural and a bit outstanding from stock calligraphy caps

Marko - www.marko-93.com (http://www.marko-93.com)
he uses this technique to paint his stuff as well as tagging, instead of using a ready made caligraphy cap

just by a transversal cap there like 50 cents

Olick
11-04-2007, 09:24 AM
riddle me this. whats the difference between a transversal and a caligraphy..personally...i think nothing. they both spray a thin line about 5-10 inches long. buy one or make one. way to bring up a dead topic.

11-04-2007, 01:28 PM
if u get the krylon for plastic they come with a style that u can use for calligraphy writing yet its a male cap but the paint is okay also comes on the "h20" kinds

edit- i mean its a female

How Do You Make Flare Caps??????

yeu dont. theres no such thing. flares are a can movement trick, not a cap type. the olden day writers made all sorts of effects with just NY fats and NY skinnys. they didnt have no fancy effect caps. and they still made some of THE BEST art ever.

ireally dont understand why you couldnt just buy some callig. caps.... then you dont have to cut no shit up. I rarely use them but i have like 10 or 15 on hand. they do make bad ass throw ups and there handy for fills to but thats what fat caps are for...

i saw a long page of graff techinques and you can cut the top up on a can to expose the cap, then move it so when you spray its blocked by the top, in this tutorial you poked a small hole and when you spray a really fine line is made. im sure you can do this to make callig. effects, only thing is more paint is wasted this way and i bet its a mess
