Welcome to the 10th official Bombing Science sketch battle. This battle will be judged by the old school German writer, Zebster. Thanks to Tribal (http://www.bombingscience.com/catalog.htm?category=Tribal) for sponsoring this battle once again!

Here's the breakdown of the prizes:

1st Place:
- $100 of Tribal Clothing
- $50 Bombing Science gift certificate
- 5 Montana Hardcore cans
- Issue 1, 2 and 3 of Bombin Magazine
- 1 Set of OTR.260 markers

2nd Place:
- $60 of Tribal Clothing
- $25 Bombing Science gift certificate
- 1 Set of OTR.260 markers

3rd Place:
- $40 of Tribal Clothing
- 1 Set of OTR.260 markers

- Handstyle battle: Tag each letter of the alphabet.
- Medium: Pencils, Pen, Markers (no computer...)

Hi guys,
this is ZEB.ROC.SKI aka ZEBSTER from Germany. Our friends from Bombing Science asked me to judge this battle which I tried to do as best I can. I asked also writers like STONE to be on the save side with my opinion.
The rules were: “ Tag each letter of the alphabet with pencil, pen, marker”


>From the 50 drawings I picked the following:

01_HAVOK

I really like the hand style: HAVOK has a very good marker control; his alphabet keeps a solid quality from beginning to the end!


02_PROPER

I guess PROPER used a small brush pen to get this effect which reminds me of the look of fat cap tags. Letters are interesting and got flow.


03_KNOWME

KNOWME got a very basic, but effective tag style. His alphabet letters are simple but got continuous “quality”.



Special: HOPES

The artwork that catches my eyes the most came from HOPE:
The letters are very nice and creative; the alphabet got a solid quality from beginning to the end; the complete work builds an own harmonic artwork. My problem: the technique!
While place 1-3 used classic tag styles, HOPES used a calligraphy hand style, which looks nice, but it’s not comparable to a “tagged” hand style.
So I can’t put him on the top 3 list, but I would like to honor is effort with a OTR.830- 36pcs box.


There was not a big difference between place 3 to the followers. Writers like “Bain, Dent, Domenick, Drips, Dukone, Ekler, Evanwilson, Globe, Imak, Irize, Klone, Pointer, Savz…+ others” were some candidates, but there were different aspects to make my “subjective” decisions.
Some started good and interesting, but kept not the quality to the end. Some added effects which helped “the look”, but not the hand style / letters. Others started to draw…..and forgot the aspect of “tagging”….
So these points are included in my decisions.
DON'T TAKE IT TO SERIOUS! The next competition is coming soon. In the end what really counts is what you do outside….writer will recognize anyway. Keep practicing & rocking !

Fuckin ay! Glad i scored a place, although perhaps i would have done better if i'd gone harder on the individual letters instead of trying to flow the whole thing as one tag...it's always a bit of a compromise!
