Hey Fube, did Proper talk to you about the Photography thread in the toys section?

And how come no one bothers to really edit the photographs and sending them in for a battle? A photograph is half complete until it's edited, for example, sharpened, saturated, cropped in the right spots, etc.

Just my two cents. But not really such a great battle...

Cais - you could have done some editing on this to make it look way sicker, it's more of the kind of shot where editing it would make it stand out and create more of an impact.

If you axe the no-modifications rule (other than cropping), then this is going to start being a photoshop battle. Please don't do that. It ceases to be photography at that point, and the digi battles on here have been far less interesting than the photo battles.

honestly, im really feeling vivahiphop's entry. The grainy lack of contrast stands out in this slew of super clean photos, with pretty standard composition. Pesky's is sick, but since the battle is pretty much won, im giving it to vivahiphop. Remember it is a photo battle, and, like arbus leaving the borders on the photos, the grainy, old magazine look of that photo calls to me. All personal opinion, but its not the camera that makes the image.

I will take that as props homie. Insects have a tendency to sit outside my joint motionless for days or hours. I had a tough time choosing between the spider and these two, which should get your discovery channel feel in even fuller effect.

Same here, but this moth was seriously 6 inches across and didn't move even with the lens 3 inches away. You see those chunks missing from his wings? That means he didn't give a fuck about a white kid with a camera on a ladder.

Funk's shit is obviously ridiculous. I can see how the pic was taken, but have no idea what the subject matter is. Rock hard.

It sucks to kill rodents, but they are definitely on the list of beings marked for termination once they enter my studio. I love the blasted aperture resulting in the tiny focus point, placed way down the body. This is a clinic on composition. Fucking ill like whoa!

Jerm kept VERY still, and somehow got a lizard the size of a dime to do the same. Sick.

Viahiphop needs some white correction. Autolevels would sort this out perfectly. You did a plant though, so you get the gasface even though the image is strong.

This battle brought out the heat, and I love that.

Oh yeah, and Bilal, any photo battle that you fail to enter is a personal failure on your part. Your shit is a problem, and needs to be experienced by as many people as possible. Your work is downright inspiring. ©

my picture was a film print i made...and my scanner kinda messed with the levels on it. the print i have deff looks more crisp.
i also cropped the fuck out of it in the dark room because couldnt zoom in on that leaf with the camera i was using and keep it in focus which is why its grainy.
but thank you to the 4 people who voted for me hah
