Yeah, I placed it too close to the E. I tried extending it past the bottom bar of the E but it just looked out of place, ill space it better hopefully when I paint it. The crew is gonna go inbetween the S and E to kill that negative space too. In case that was bothering anyone else.

you might think that youre using bars but they arent used correctly..a lot of them are inconsistent, which is ok sometimes..but not when you are a new comer..you need to get your straight letters down to a T before you think abotu experimenting and devloping your own style. Once you get your bars down you can start bending and adding..but for now i suggest you sketch straight letters and stop coloring..your just wasting the ink..i dont mean to sound harsh but its the truth

oh sorry about that, i don't have my own digital camera and had to use my sisters and being the retard that she is she didnt know how to PROPERLY set the date so when i took those pics today it said 07 instead of 08 and since i just started i've been fucking around with styles and names i generally try to write something that starts with a K, or an S, like Kry ,or Senas so i will repost some of them to prove to you so that im not lying.

@thatguy: I am not one to be giving advice about anything, but keep the 3D parts consistent, like make sure the shading is all coming from one direction or else it looks like it's coming from 5 different light sources. If a light is on the right, all the shadows will fall to the left, I hope you know what I'm talking about. Also the border color, the orange, try to make it less choppy. I'm not gonna critique on the letters because I'm simply not good enough to recommend anything better. If you want to start with something a little easier, look up alphabet throwie on youtube and get some ideas from there maybe, just for starters.

AHH this ones for cake. ELM. nice short word, i like it. your set of bars there? i didnt like so much lol. now lets really bring this into easyness. instead of trying to make up your own styles go and practice turning your letters into styles by other writers. keep this in your sketch book, if you want post up your progress here. this will help you learn to manipulate letters. i personally like to take a few more steps when i screw up my bars. i do verticles then horizontals. make sure that at NO TIME does the width of the bar change. even in the curves. its like drawing with a pencil and two fixed tips. always in unison. also think of which bar is in front of the other and draw it infront. Also make sure you have really made just bars that are straight. with ELM thts easy but letters like R and B can be difficult. look at other styles and try to see where which bars are located. look at raseks style, very basic but very welldone and looks good. you can see what the drawer sees as far as bars. stay away from extentions for abit. make the middle of the M is 2 bars and not just a V shaped single bar. Also tboth sides of the M dont have to mirror each other in the end.

Naw, your 100% right. Thats how I got into using spraypaint, helped me learn layering which was great for the basics of graphic design (what I'm majoring in) brought in a ton of cash and I got sick of the same old simple designs (Like that one) so the newer stuff utilizes the techniques but in much more depth. I wish I had one on here but to the best of my knowledge there in the camera chip in my laptop and I'm not going downstairs for it tonight. Anyway, you tell a gallery owner your 19, make that with spray paint and they offer you a showing...and they sell...on top of that its actually fairly hard to get it done well (people say they can all do that shit but to make it look good...that takes a while) and its fun as hell. Its like graff...the same old styles over and over , its all the same, so you evolve and change it and come up with new shit...thats what I'm at least trying to do, What I just posted, yeah that basic style it played out, I fully agree, but with enough experimentation I know there is no limit to what can be done with it...half the reason I started taking it to walls.

You can man...seriously. A local artist around here got picked up for shit around town, made the newspapers, made this huge thing out of it to scare off other artists. He gets out, and like 20 galleries are asking for canvas work...Graff is very marketable, and as long as your stuff if clean it can sell, the question is, would you sell it? like with graffiti, I don't know if I'd sell it, I feel off about it, its not what the art form was created with in mind. The stuff I do, it was a way to bring spray paint into a gallery you know...its all personal choice though, if someone wanted to get into a gallery with there stuff I'd be down for it completely, just not my thing..not at this point yet, but my graffiti is shit now anyway lol.

meko/noe- i dunno right now im saying meko but thats cuz ur noes are too simple to compare witht the other, so post some better noes and well c

meko - i think you need to stick to arrowless simples for a while, that first Noe sketch is one of the better things you have done for sure
