All things considered.. the other posts I have read divulge a lot more then reposting someone's post. I can agree, the drips were excessive.. the flow probably needs some work and I should simplify things. However, do me a favor..

bic- try going a bit simpler, im sure your sick of hearing that but it really helps. like the top of the C loose the extension thingys and maybee shorten up the bottom
squint - i think the U and N are to covered up, move them out just a bit. and maybee try the bottom I in the top sketch, nice though

agree-the extension on the A you can do without, and for the R if your going to do the non-conected thing you should maybee do it with all or none of them, just a thought.

Bers- Looks good man. I think you're ready for the intermediate thread bro.
Cold- I'm diggin' the simplicity, but next time try doing that without a ruler/grid paper to help you practice making straight lines.
Agree- Your A looks a little sloppy and try not to let your G overlap itself like that. I like the overall forms of the rest of your letters, but also work on making those E's look identical. Lose the extensions too; they don't really fit.
Squint- On the top one, I like all of your letters except for the S and U. The S needs work because it looks weird how it joins itself and the U has sharp cuts whereas the rest of the letters are sorta 'curvy'. I really like the other letters together though. On your second one, I can see that you were going for a consistency on your SQU, then that point at the top just stops. I'd recommend carrying that out throughout the piece or just not bringing it out at all. Also, don't join your N and T like that; it doesn't really fit. I like your first one better.
Bic- Read the New To Graffiti Thread. Start simple. You're going way over your head.
Menik- Make sure that all of your letters are constructed from bars (look at the middle of your M) and pay close attention to the thickness of your letters. On your K, make the two diagonal bars overlap at the vertical bar rather than just 'meet'.
iii.zz- It's really hard to tell from those pics, but they look good from what I can tell. Post a better pic for more in-depth crits...
Take- You're getting better dude. I'd watch those extensions though. Your coloring and highlights could use a bit of work, but that's not really important considering you've got your letters on lock for the most part.
Slek- I don't like how your letters lean all different directions. It kinda fucks with the flow of the entire thing. Your L looks especially weird. I'd focus on your letters together before getting into coloring.

But I like yours overall cocacola, but that T looks a but too 'kinked' for my tastes. There are a few extensions that look out of place as well. For example, the lower left one on the S and the one on the left leg of the A.

Dunsy: Those characters looks really well done, that game that you posted a flick of was fun too. the N in Nova (last pic): the Right part of it is too thin. I'd also make the O a tad bigger. also, take out the thing off the V (top left), it looks it's an N with half of it tucked behind the O. try squishing you A closer to the NOV.
you have that same problem w/ your throw up, too.

on that Viewtiful Joe character, try making his left leg, and left arm a bit fatter, also, fix his crotch/belly, it looks like a fat person's. the Face was spot on, though. Not digging the Random extension one the O in ONE, take the thing off the N (top right), smooth out the top of the E also.

Haha, good call. It is for a really close female friend of mine who's over in Belgium. Her birthday's comin' up, so I try to keep in touch with her and send her sketches here and there :) Thanks for the compliment too.

On your sketches, your characters are lookin' dope. I would just suggest that on your letters, you keep an eye on the thickness of your bars and I'd lose the spade on your i on the first one. On your colored 'one', all three of your letters have different thicknesses, so it makes them stand out from one another. I'd lose the extension on the o too. I'm not feelin' the colored 'nova', but I like all of the last 'nova' other than the right bar on the n- thicken that up and that'd be straight.

oh haha. ok. well as i said, my crits arent going to be effective, know what i mean? cus like if i dont know the techniques and stuff to graff yet, i cant say something is good or not, just cus like if i say for ex that b's stuff is tight (wich it is) thats not completly right cus you guys can find stuff that needs improvement. but yeah. b's looks good, and i like the fill, and the blue 3d outlines.

Just assume that if you have to post in the toy thread, then you don't have the structure that it takes to pull off 3D.

Contrary to this post.. 3D isn't difficult. By "Not doing something" you don't learn something. See, the statement I quoted I wanted to touch on. Practice makes perfect. And if you are going to practice you may as well go all or nothing. I'm not the type of person who believes statements like.. "If you can't read well.. you should stop reading for a bit."

If you have to, make extremely simple letters.. and use a ruler to guide them to your vantage point. Then as your bend you letters keep the same idea, erasing the lines to the vantage point as you clean up your sketches. Or you could even practice making boxes, and other shapes and using the vantage point etc.. etc. Until you become more familiar with it. 3D essentially stays the same. However, objects.. letters and so forth are what makes it seem different. I'm sure if you searched on Google, it would give a nice descriptive set up. Or, check out art tutorials. They have break downs on 3D.

Pear-it looks good. Nice shading. But that border is way too thick. I think adding a nice color fill in those letters could look good too. I like what you're trying to do, but its kind of advanced. Try doing some simpler letters, but with 3d.

Ok so I fixed the B...now B not 13....also tighten the letters a bit closer. I kinda f'd the 3d, started to ouline with a "gel pen" but it didnt write over shit, then when i tried my classic silver, it just got fucked. not to mention the white out L...this ones just shit lmao. anyway, could i get some crits please?

armen-you're putting some effort into your pieces, coloring them and all, keep it up. Make your Rs look more like Rs instead of A, and the 3D is a little messed up.

scameretolme-i like the fill, but im not sure what it says. it looks nice, but i can't tell if it's crappy letter structure, or if it's actually good..still working on reading graffiti. Try going to the intermediate and see what people say there.

bafl, i agree, much better. but you need to work on the 3D part. the shadow on the B isn't connected well to the letter, and overall a lot of parts are missing. the way i look at what parts need the 3d is you need to keep it consisitent. like think the shadow will be going to the bottom left, so a shadow belongs anywhere to the bottom of the letter and to the left of the figure. it really helps. keep practicing

Ok, letters closer again, umm F bar shortened, (i like it shorter). and i shadowed this using the left side, so everything on the left side. (forgot a bar). also now my bars are getting inconsitent sizing(going too fast)..so im prob done for the night, but could i get some crits on this simp?
