angle the two vertical bars on the A more towards each other, so the intersect more. and the LT looks like it's angle more upwards then the PA. make sure all your letters are angled in the same direction. and the rounded top part of the P is too skinny. yo?

red eyes: watch your structre/flow on that S.
zbre: i like that style, really original. Just be careful with that R. Wasn't able to really tell whether it was an R or a X. And that Z can be mistaken for a lower case E.
tofe: better but work on flow and just because you are using bars doesn't mean you are using letter structure. watch where you are putting them.

The A is gross. i agree. i've been working on a few different ones.
the triangle things on every single letter is called flow. (doing the same thing to each letter making it consistent, like how the bottom of the S is balancing out the bottom of the E) and the F is more hidden then the E bc an F can easily be mistaken for an E. trying to make it more prominent to being an F and different. still got a few kinks to work out. thx for the crits though.

Simply put, have the A look more like an A?
Right now with the two bubble type things at the top it looks like it used to be an H to me. It's not really defined itself as the letter A. If you insist on doing the bubble twirl thing off the letters, perhaps you should have the A come to a point at the top and pick a direction for that single bubble twirl thing to come off of. Kind of like the P?

Other then that, I don't know.

I see what youre saying, but i reckon sometimes its better just to jump right in and try out loads of different styles and just see which one(s) stick. Dont be afraid to make mistakes..

kilts you got the right idea, get some good solid letters before you start doing wildstyle shit dont listen to 4HER although exploring some cant hurt just keep doing what your doing and if might look a lil better if you reducded the bar length of the bottom of the L just a tiny bit

zewl- that second one has potential but simplify it a bit. a lot of the add ons are pointless. make the middle two bars of the W thicker. it makes it have too much negative space otherwise

Excellent pen work, dude. You've got some nice letters. Just try and bring that extension between the P and the K down a little bit so it's not too much higher than the other letters. Tuck it if you have to.

I think that second one is ready for painting. No doubt about it.

Paint the bottom one. Period. Throw a sexy fill in it. Or just do white. Just paint it.

Zane- simple letters, drop the extensions, work on your 3d, let it run over the letter under it if your gonna do it on the right side. It's easier just to do it on the left so you can work on letter spacing too, just fyi.

UHOH- your o looks like shit. no offense. work on your letter width for right now and keep it consistent, cut the weird ass bubbles coming off your letters out. Your 3d is off on your O. I'd just do simple top and left bars for now, when you get good at those, then work on straightviews (the shit you attempted). For now, just use a simple outline, not the puddle looking thing.

your E is ur best letter.... dont turn the end of letters into arrows like the leg of the R..... simplify it a bit and instead of using two bars to create a kink like the left bar of the W use one curvy bar. and the rest u can figure out

Nah, to be completely honest, I'd keep away from painting for now tofe. You don't have the basics down yet and you've been posting for quite awhile with little progression/ demonstration of an understanding of basic letter structure. I'd back up off the painting until you get something decent on paper. You'll thank me later.

bottom one you got more unneccessary extenstions and you need to make the left leg of the a connect to the right one at the top.

Yeah, kew, you're definitely trying to hard on that one. The structure just isn't there. Stick to working with bars until you understand proportions, then shoot for a more advanced style.

Meph, I'd definitely rework your E on the top one and play around with the layout of the pieces around your letters before you make a final colored one. The car looks pretty good, but I'd work on getting the letters in the smoke to be the same sizes too.

Mfatik, on the top one, those kinks in your letters make the entire thing look kinda awkward, but nice job keeping the letters proportionate. I'd stay away from overlapping like you did on your F and on the left side of your M though. On the bottom one, stay away from disconnecting portions of letters like your A and also don't connect your letters like you did on your M and F. Aside from that, I'd bring your letters closer together and don't be afraid to overlap.

You mean all the connections? when i first drew it the letters seemed too far apart so i filled in some connections.

When your letters seem too far apart, bring them closer together. Don't fill it with extensions, that just kind of puts a highlight on where you made a mistake.
They're called extensions because they extend one letter into another, they don't just randomly connect two letters. I need to quit using extensions myself, I'm too toy to pull it off.

By the way, on that second sketch keep your letters the same size.

I like this one, just work on your letter structure a lil bit in the others. Your n's get to looking like r's in a lot of them, and a lot of your simples.... aren't really simples, make simples simples, and pieces pieces.

the perus sketch on paper on the bottom got some funk to it,but the s looks hidden and the top part needs to be brought down more..try fixing that u in the bottom by making it flat instead of round,also i sujest u dont do squiggles like u did on the bottom of the p and try making all the letters same height ( notice how the p and s are lower than everyother letter ) ..also ur r is flat on the left bar but on the right its rounded,keep it flat so the flow is consistent..the last one that he painted should never be painted again ( 2012? ) ,paint what u did on paper,looks way better

hater looks more experienced than u and chuk,if he would have brought that t down to the level were the other letters are and eliminated all those arrows it would have been really funky

chuk needs to work on his u and h by not making them touch eachother, that last one has a pretty good c and k

And about that cookie cutter shit, crits don't have shit to do with your tag or style. You choose which crits you want to listen to. You know what looks right to you, and when people point out something that's wrong and you look back and see that it is, your probably going to change that. I know some people with dope tags who couldn't paint shit. Some people don't even write tags. But I definitely think everyone should know not to let 400 kids who may or may not know what they're talking about influence their style when they read their crits.

You make it sound like doing a perfect burner is as easy as getting on bombingscience. It's not. Your shit's decent for a toy, but look at some really good artists pictures sometime. That takes as much time if not more than getting a good tag. And tags are a lot more opinionated when you judge a "good one".
