anyone got any tips for blending with "conector pens" cause thats pretty much all i got at the moment and my attempt is shocking. theres a few paint pens and coloured permanemt markers on ebay i might look into getting. any crits would be apreciated.

on the bottom one the curve on that S is way to small, and maybe the bottom part of that E too. try working on your 3d a little aswell. try making the lines that come away from the letter the same angle because it just looks all over that place

in my opinion theres nothing special or distinct about the "SE", its looks pretty standard. i think his choice of style is the same as yours, i see alot of people doing the same tricks that i do but i dont think there bitin, just on the same path .. . .

there ya go a well done piece with the exeption of the stripes at the bottom that looked good in pencil but not in ink. i took maybe an hour to an hour fourty five minutes on this one

I would move the right side of the N over left a bit, possibly lose the bottom extension line for the R, and thicken up the top lines of the T. I also think the extension thingy you are doing with the T would look better if you tried to make it semmetrical to give balance to the piece. Plus if you are going for the whole line thing, use a ruler or it looks sloppy (you can see on the bottom line). Overall rather good for a freestyle.

Yo that R needs to be one piece, since thats the direction the other letters are goin. I think the T and E are the dopest letters but yeah that z is kinda wierd... def lose tht bump at the bottom and try to straighten the ends a lil bit maybe.

Tricks I really like your style. The only thing i can critisize against is that the beginning of the N doens&#39;t line up after it overlaps with the O but its looks good. O and great ownage on that codes

beone: i would suggest trying to work on the flow of your letters. a good thing to try is to draw two lines that curve together, and keeping your letters with the same curve. this will serve to both unify the piece and prevent your letters appearing haphazard. It might also be a good idea to work on 3d at this stage.

eskimo:I would suggest eliminating that nipple thing on your K, as it makes it appear more like an E than a K. Feeling the look of the K overall anyway. For your hilights, make sure you keep in mind that you need to determine a single lightsource (at least at this stage) and keep the hilights uniform throuhg out your piece (such as the O). I dont like the O and the R being connected, but you are starting to get some of the basic fundamentals. Keep it up, and keep it simple like this till you can knock these out.

mkay i got a little beef w/ tpoclot&#39;s post....what makes arows so bad, i mean, not everyone can conform to one set style with NO ARROWS. everyone has a different method of doing their letters, sien jus happens to throw in some arrows.

^^^i&#39;m likin&#39; that skeam...i&#39;d move your k down a little to line up with your s...and your e and a seem to be getting larger than the s and k. so maybe shrink those down a little. but other than that i like it. but what do i know? i&#39;m just a toy right.

they all have potential add some 3d to the blue and orange one...and the last one looks good try making all the letters upper case see how it looks like that you dont have the dot on the i but really add 3d to that blue and orange one and add a force field..also work on ur handstyle while your at it.

as for you i like it...but the top of the r looks lonly up there....what i do when i leave a gap like that i always add a force field and trow in a tag or suttin so it looks filled up...i do that alot...but you can alyways resketch it or try something diffrent..its up to you...

holy fuckin shit...you actuly like wernt a dick for once... oh and btw ur rite i lost complete intrest in the sketch.. i was watchin tv and tryin to finish it because i havent posted anything in a while....and havein to letters in a name is hard..it takes years to perfect it to make the same letter exactly the same twice (look up demer) and yea your rite x&#39;s have to be one of the hardest letters to do..but u always need a challenge...thanx for the crits.

I wouldn&#39;t really listen to SEL, doomsayer. He&#39;ll probably get you to copy some other peoples letters.

I&#39;d recomend you start off simpler (you&#39;ve probably heard everyone else getting this as well, but that&#39;s cos it&#39;s really usefull).

Like this guy here. He&#39;s started off nice and simple, and from there he can progress (maybe tweak a letter here and there, but it&#39;ll eventually start looking really nice)

yeeeeess....I think (but the pics kinda small)

There&#39;s two basic types of 3d (and there&#39;s also shadow)

For one type of 3d (probably one of the easiest) is where all of the lines point in the same direction (it can also be done by making a shadow and connecting the lines)... I think this is the type you did...

And the other is perspective.

If you did the first one (and you know that the lines are a little bit off and messy) then yeh you&#39;re on the right direction...

Thank you. I think I&#39;ll sort of leave the arrows alone, I skethced that after I read the how to on arrows, so I thought Id give it a try. Its really hard to keep letters proportional,(sp?) and strait, any help on keeping them in line and same size?

Kept- The first pic isn&#39;t really my flava, but it&#39;s solid letter structure and would get your name up well.
The second pic is my flava. ;) Very nice flow and letters. Props. I think Cord may be right about less drips tho. Unless you were going more for a splash effect.
Good work overall yo.

Tricks- You&#39;re on fire Kid. You&#39;ve deffinately developed your signature style. I&#39;d like to see it painted. It would be fresh.
I&#39;d also like to see it say "CEZR".... :D Please? (Cezr on paper, Regs in paint...)

Eskimo- Solid AO throwie, solid Goke, solid K on the Spek, but the rest of Spek fell short. Overall a good post tho.

Icer- You have a good style, but I get kinda irked by 2 things.
#1- your outline seems too thick. it makes your letters lose some of there sharpness.
#2- Akward color combo&#39;s....Just my oppinion. Keep up the good work. ;)

Evex- I like the second pic alot.
I also like te 5th and the karak on the 6th. On the fifth pic the verticle letters to the far right are wild. I really like &#39;em, even if I can&#39;t read &#39;em. You&#39;ve got a pretty nice throwie too. The old man worm creeps me the fuck out. :lol:

It seems like you&#39;re at that point where you&#39;re on the verge of discovering your signature style, but it all hasn&#39;t comepletely come together yet. I see nice similarities in alot of your stuff, but then you wanna experiment or lose intrest and just go in a different direction and start doing block letters and wierd karaks. I like it more when you&#39;re focused I think. Either way, you&#39;re origional.

icer u got any sketchs? like ur older stuff from when u started? i was guna post my first sketch ever...when i use to write siz..but photobuckets being gay and wont upload

thanx lol iv been drawing forever....but yet i never really find time to draw last thing i actuly drew was a sketch for my sister of me and her when we wer younger

everything else have been like 5-10 min pen freestyles. mayb this summer ill sit down and start drawing up pieces for chill spots.
