robot sex - thats lookin pretty good. you might have been able to emphasis the letters coming at you more if you figured a way to slip a lil 3d right next to the left part of the Z overlapping the E. if that makes any sense . .. . .

Feel like an ass posting this after the last few pics that have been seen(sky5, I slapped myself with a dictionary and still can't come up with any words to describe that piece) First time experimenting with drips. Crits?

argh way too many drips... not done too well either. I'd say for now leave the drips out and work on developing your letters, I'm not saying go for some wildstyle letters, but you might wanna add more of a shape to each one. (if that makes any sense at all :huh: )

try to make your letters match without all that jazzy shit ,untill you get your letters down ...about your sketch the "T's" and "M" are ok but the O and E sux bad...and what makes them do it is they lack a consistency in thickness and structure with the letters you have that are good...a perfect example of great toy (no offense) letter structure is bouncing soul from a couple post's up ...note how the letters have consistent values without a buncha needles addons and extensions? That red october is what you should strive for,until you discover the truth in this you'll have no traction ,and you'll just burn out

I know what you were going for with the green streaks, but the red screws it up IMO. Just the green streaks with the basic lettering and some black 3d to the bottom or w/e would look simple, but alright.

pace- one thing that strikes me about your throws/peices there is that its pAce, which is a little, well, weird, id suggest doing something more standard like

and with the 3d on the second one, i think it could use some lines there, to distinguish between the different surfaces of black, so its not a huge black blob, not sure exactly how to go about that tho

well, your fill is very nice

just work on letter structure, and make your letters fatter, and plumper lol

since your letters are straight, make sure your 3D is too, a the bottoms you tend to make it curved

add some handstyle

the top one should have better colors w/o the things in it

Battle is cancelled for the time being. I apollogize, but Magic is being an asshole, and I&#39;m not posting his shit till he changes his attitude.

As for a crit, the extension below the H and the connection between the C and the O aren&#39;t doing much for it. You&#39;ve got some good ideas there, but I&#39;d like to see you push it a little further for a poll. I promised the other mods I&#39;d try and uphold a quality standard for toy battles. The quality of the letters isn&#39;t bad, it&#39;s just the overall presentation needs a bit more. (particularly the photograph itself. I want a quality pic at least.) ;)

i got the 24 pack of prismas which is allright but it doesnt have enough greens purples or pinks ... you lay down a strip of the light color (canary yellow) then next to that put a strip of dirty yellow gentlely fading/brushing it slightly over the can. yellow; repeat with orange, poppy red then red ...... its a quick easy fill cuz your not doing any crazy inside fill desings and all that jazz.

im only gonna give you visual tips on the xmen one cuz its the simple&#39;ist one. and the same tips apply to all of them

Make the X equal height (the top part and the bottom part of your X were off. the top was taller then the bottom.) and also make the M and the N equal height an length too.

the main thing you messes up on was the parallel lines. make sure all lines are equally even to eachother. on your E the lines had a curve. and your N was off too..

get that xmen style down first then we&#39;ll go from there..


Oh ya. from the look of the other 2 sketches, it looks like yout sketching a little too small. sketch bigger and have a steady hand.

so go do the xmen one over again

not quite perfect. throwies aint my strong point bt the problem is that each of the letters are crap. try doing each letter individually to see if u can make em look nice, then bring em together... cos atm not enough thought has gone into it. sketch it about a million times. try that..

yank the y (if tahts the first letter) looks like the gd old mickey mouse sign. apart from the Y i like it alot. The hole in the A dont fit with the rest. the bottom leg of the K looks a bit fat. but i like it. work on it i like where its goin.

tame, with regarrds to the sexcond one (the one obseen quoted)its not bad. take more time on the red and rub out the pencil. they make it look sloppy. the TA and ME dont match at all. the M and E are a fatty style type thing. the TA are skinny, well formed letters. i personally quite like the TAtry making the ME in the same way. not bad tho. keep at it. the other 2 are too complicated and rubbbbash. work on that one

your letter structure looks pretty good to me, i can read it pretty easy, but yeah, you went overboard on the extentions, i mean hell, alot of them look like they dont even attach to anything. I dont think its common that someone needs to make their letters more complex, but if you want that many extentions and stuff, you letters have to get into it more. Id probably advise that instead of doing that you just drop some of the extentions...

work on your letter structure, it looks like you threw words at a page, instead of just going with it, think it out 1st

and dont do arrows, no matter how good you think you are dont do arrows, only the pro&#39;s can pull arows off

the only reason your 3d is wack, is because you have so many angles of 3d

3d should only come from one side, if you look at a book you cant see every side of the book from 1 angle

just keep working on it man ;)

take it down a notch, simple simple simple simple simple simple simple.
you said it yourself, that style doesnt work for some of your letters, which leaves you trying to force the style on them. BAD things happen when you try to force style on ANYTHING.

start simple and get your letter structures down, get rock solid on them. THEN you get to start messing with style. if you try to style it out too fast tho you&#39;ll just end up with shit.

its tough, but you gotta walk before you run and crawl before you walk.

i havent seen anything else youve done, so my crit may be a little skewed, but just on that one peice there, thats my advice...
