a bit out of focus, but they were small little sketches, just looking for some pointers on style, just trying shit out and trying to see what works.

personally, i like the heart shaped m and the &#39;flame-wisp&#39; e, but both of them are giving me trouble when i try to duplicate them, i guess i just need practice...

yo capo that looks pretty nice even tho you said you bit...the only thing i dont like is the right extension of the O, it looks goofy with 3 bends in it

and cook, the extensions of the K should be equal width to the rest of the letters

Solid letters kwake. I&#39;m not hot on how the k and the W sort of connect at the top, nor the K and the E, but that&#39;s nit picking.. ;) Some centralizied 3d would get it poppin off.

the B is a lil bigger than the rest, the A is lil too hidden . . . the bottom right leg of the last R should probaly mathch how you ended the right legs of the first R and N .. the yellow forcefield aint really poppin like a forcefiled should, not enough contrast against the green fill and white paper . . . you got the basics down, keep sketchin and repeat what works and drop what dont . . . .

when i do that extension arrow (its a classic move for old school semi wildstyle) i like to have the lil begining extension shoot directly left (not at an angle given how you laid down your letters) to keep it consistent with just north sout, east wesst movement/flow that your letters have .. then bring it up like you did (at angle cuttin back into the left leg of the R) but shoot the arrow again directly left (not at angle, parallel with lil begining extension) .. . . if you look at some of my past pics im sure youll find an example ... its great move i love doing it . . . when you got that down you can then try to bend the arrow extension and things start gettin really crazy . . . .alright i ll shut up, this gatorade aint cuttin it man . . .

uhhh... make your pics bigger...i can&#39;t see anything except a few pencil lines...

but from what i can see, it appears that you shouldnt try wildstyle until you have your simple letters down.

your first 3 letters lslant which is fine but then the ER lie flat which in my eye throws the balance off, i can see that you put the arrow extension at an angle to keep it consistent with the way the first R and N slant but it left you with incocnsistent bookeneds .... everythin is a personal choice though so do your thang man . . .

i think you definitely getting better, and i know that its just an outline and a copy of what dude showed you.... but...

1. its a basic outline. they arent crazy wildstyle letters so ur trying to force things in that dont fit. the left side is way more populated than the right and it takes my attention off of the rest of the sketch. too many arrows that have no purpose being there. keep goin, bro.

get rid of the arrows, connect the c, and don&#39;t make it so complicated.

Biting something wont give you a feel on how to curve your letters. It may give you a feel for curving your hand when you draw but you should have that already. Start with simple letters, maybe add a curve on a few edges (but remember to keep the letter width the same throughout the piece/letter)... And keep sketching (lose the arrows as well)... and work on your handstyle... the c is going through the a for some reason, tags dont have to be scribbly and unreadable(sp?)

and look at sky5&#39;s stuff... thats wildstyle. your one looks like simple blockletters (yet poorly done). I wouldn&#39;t recommend going and adding on arrows and hookups everywhere because it take some skill to do that well. For now work on positioning your letters, getting 3d/shadows down, and keep working on your letters.

I did that futurama sketch... And the reason I&#39;m not doing any outlining and stuff is because my pens ran outta ink... And I can&#39;t get more because the place I&#39;m in right now doesn&#39;t have any shops that seel those Microns. But I get back late August and I&#39;ll have myself a nice little trip to Michaels. And right now I&#39;m just trying to work on my letter structure. I can outline and color it when I get back and hopefully by then I&#39;l have dope letters since I&#39;m sketching so much

honest bouncingsouls it looks really sloppy :[ like you tried to draw it really fast to get some type of flow or something try drawing it slower and make sure your proportions are even (ex the &#39;swirl&#39; on the H is much bigger and &#39;swirlier&#39; than the one on the E) also the &#39;stem&#39; of the h should be longer (the steam being the first leg and like bar thing on your H if that makes sense) i think the main thing is that you tried to draw it really fast (trying to get a &#39;flow&#39; look or something maybe) so try it a lil slower and really think about each shape before you do it...see it on the paper before its there then trace it ya know? hope it helped :]

Saw that coming. If you read my post I said it was kind a of wildstyle. Not block letters but more curvy. If you have seen my previous work I&#39;ve been doing blocks for awhile and I have my 3d down(atleast I think so). Im just trying to progress by doing some add ons and making the letters a bit more curvy. And again, does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve without trying to tell me what wildstyle is?

capo-that pretty good. it could be better overall but that&#39;ll just come with some time. the a, the little bottoms things don&#39;t quite look right. you can keep them but you need to tweak em some. if your not hugely attached to them then just drop em. the p, the little thing on the bottom could make it look like an e, i know it says capo so i know its a p, just a headsup.

just start adding small accents to your blocked letters. that should make it a little more interesting. just keep it clean and proportionate (sic?) block letters are actually pretty fun once you start experimenting. throwing a round bubble curve hear and there. just simples should help you with that stuff. pz

just start out with basic simple letters, they dont have to be block or anything. Like,
S Y K
the add little tweaks and a lil style to them,
then push your tweaked letters in,
SYK
then you can adjust the piece, connect it, add all the stylistics you want and shit.
At least thats how I was taught to do it by those who taught me.
Thats just my opinon / advice, do what you do.

define your letters more and do some simpler stuff, get rid of all those arrows and extra lines coming off, Dont have any add ons for now. keep it simple, and work on your letter structure alot.

WolfBurrns, wildstyle is having all the letters connected, with alot of style, semi wild style is the next closest thing, which is like wildstyle just simpler. What you have are simples, a step up from block and bubble letters. Theres millions of spots inbetween that and even semi wildstyle.

Heres some bullshit I did.. This is the aftermath of the sketch I did. I got frusterated with it and just fucked around by putting those lines between the letters and shit. First time using Prismas too.

Holidayy- Looks pretty good but some parts of the letters dont follow the style your going for. like the top part of the "n" is just straigh pointed and the "t" is a little small. I think it would also look better without the hook-ups.

All of them are good, the outline one is kinda rough but at least u have the different styles down.

Hey do u have photoshop or something? U could clean up the image so that none of the eraser marks or smuding shows. Also makes the pencil stuff darker.

Edit: Make the K stand out a little more like the other letters.

I prefer not to edit with photoshop as when people look at it they say its wayyy too clean.
