yeah MF has a real nice flow b/c he repeats certain lines/angles/movements that look good . . .look at the top right lop of the P, e, R there all the same which gives you that consistent the-man-knows-what-hes-doin style . . . what works for one letter should work for other letters of similar structure . . . . .z z z z z z z

i agree with you on the width bit, but disagree on the fragmented bit...the appeal of those letters IS the fact that they're all like chopped up. (i just really like that style so i suppose i'm biased, whatever..) but otherwise mino the colours look real nice, and i like the brown inverse-highlights.

mebone i rekon you could work on your letter structure a little before you waist time using markers or paint or pencil and your fill. maybe use addons and your letters dont need to be so thin and yeh basically its alright just work on your letters

The top blue one is quite good.

If I was you on the 'C' make the bottom bit fatter so the line is even with top line of the 'E' and 'Z'.

Your 'a' looks like a 'g'. Maybe change it to this sort of 'a', with the line at the top.

Also mark the 'hole' in the 'a' so that the 'C' doesn't look like an 'e'.

I think that it has a bit of a potential that sketch.

craze.. haha i used to write that. the blue throw type think add the holes to the a and r and see what that looks like but i like that one a bunch i think it just needs a little more someting ...its your job to see what that is. aalso maybe tryin the e lowercase.

well most people sketch pencil first, and then u can erase and all that. harder for most people to pen freestyle, where nothing can be undone, but it seems to come easier for me.

i always have that problem with e&#39;s&#33; i hate it. but i feel like i cant bring it up without making it straight there. ill work on it.

Fost, your coloruings on point, and you have some eltter struture, just take some more time on the actual letters, i have feeling ( and i do it too sometiems ) that kids rush their pieces just to show everyone on bombing sceince, as much as graffiti is for others to look at, and to be proud of, you have to like it in the first place, so keep that in mind,

I do that for the battles sometimes. I like know that I have only 10 minutes left and still decide to rush the fuck out of a fully colored piece. It always comes out shitty but then when I take my time it comes out really good and sometimes surprises me with the quality of it. I do always rush the outlines though. They always are sort of on the lines but in some places off and it pisses me off so I just rush it more for some reason.

i use a normal sketch book and sharpies, the out lines i do with this marker with a reely thin tip i got at the pharmaprix lol

So does that mean that most of your stuff is freestyled? If so I can&#39;t really tell the difference. Also I can never do freestyles because I&#39;m kinda a perfectionist so I need the letters to be all the same width and it makes me mad if they aren&#39;t which is what happens when I freestyle shit. I may try it again but this time make a concious attempt to not worry if it comes out badly. I&#39;m a big one on the whole thing that NICCSACC does in his tutorial in the tutorial thread on his T with the different parts of the letters. This kinda prevents freestyles from flowing well. I don&#39;t know I&#39;ll try it out.

its nice man, thats my favourite kind of 3D to do on my pieces and the highlights in it look really good.

work on the letters a bit though, they are looking a bit like mr wiggles font bites. Perhaps go simpler for a little while

Truth that peice is lookin good, trip ur structure out a bit more, put some more curve and style into it and experiment with putting your lines at different angles and thicknesses rather than just straight up and down. Your throw is a bit off, ur r needs a lot of work and loose the big bubble on ur H.

Doomsayer- That karak&#39;s pretty cool yo. The throwies seem a bit iffy on the bottom. Maybe a more uniform, sharper slant would do the trick? Just a thought.
Hybrid- Nice overall shape, but the letter structure seems just a bit touchy.


Here&#39;s an outline I fucked around this morning. Trying to get some ideas for the toy train I&#39;m painting for my baby. (He&#39;s not born just yet for those that were asking ;) )

thicken your letters cezr, its too much just like the outline of a handstyle. or maybe thats just because i know thats what it is. lol try have less dead space in the middle

It&#39;s not a handstyle outline Alive, I just thinned the letters to better add 3d (which I haven&#39;t added yet). I&#39;m hoping that will fill some of the dead space. But thanks fer the crit. ;)

really? im impressed then, but its interesting, b/c it looks just like one of your handstyles (that r excellent by the way). you shouldnt thin letters for the 3d, the letters are the focus, 3d is to help the letters pop.

I like the first 3 pages, although I think you could soften some of the really sharp points on those simples and the E on the second simple is a little off on consistancy. The throwies&#39; pretty nice too.
By the 5th page, you&#39;re really struggling with that R. I&#39;d focus on it for a while. Page 7 isn&#39;t bad, but page 8 kinda lacks. The R and the A are twisted up. Overall it was a fun book to look at tho.

cezr - cool thanks for the crits, ill try to round it off, i have noticed that often dont do that enough. do you think you could explain what you mean by "twisted up"? i really liked that A&#33; haha. i did really like that extention, but i wanted to counter the C&#39;s extention. im just starting to use extentions like these too. trying to take a step up with them and connections. maybe its too early? let me know
