if you paint over the numbers they have to take the car off the line and repaint the numbers, so sometimes they will paint over the entire car and ruin all the pieces on it.
alot of times they just repaint around the numbers the frieght color (burgundy) and then paint the numbers back on, like in that flick.
and the more they have to repaint cars, the more heated freight painting gets, and then peopel who do fresh burners slit your throat

the numbers are their so workers can track which cars go where, and if their covered up you cost them time and money to find to find out which car it is. to keep costs down CN is now just restamping them, meaning they just put the numbers back up without repainting.

but if you go over numbers you WILL heat out your yards because the workers do keep track, so if they are clean at one point, someone goes over, they will notice where they got painted.


and if your going to a yard TAKE YOUR SHIT WITH YOU THAT YOU BRING IN&#33; that means empty cans, gloves, tips, anything other then the painted peice, you take with you.

This is my first freehand piece, however I&#39;ve been doing stencils for a while (and yes, they&#39;re much better than this.)

Wanted to segway into straight graff for ease of equipment required. Carrying around rolled up multi-layer lifesizes isn&#39;t the most inconspicuous way to get around.


Anyway, give me some feedback. Real feedback. Not poorly-articulated comments from assholes. Yes, I am aware this is pretty lame- that&#39;s why it was done on a concrete wall beside an abandoned train track, I wouldn&#39;t subject the general public to this.

That being said, I appreciate anything y&#39;all have to say.

First off, get caps. That&#39;ll help alot. WHy are you writing on your own walls? You can make a quick easy fake wall with plywood and 2X4&#39;s. ANd then you dont hafta clean that over and over again. Try wood and stuff, but a plywood wall is great for practice. Or, a old fence piece, used to use one of those back in the day it helped alot.

Is it your first time? its pretty good actualy. just on the A on the top left, dont have the line go in so far, the fade is alright for you first piece or 2 or what ever it is, just when fading use the lighter color last.

tophat- what does that even say "tbobe"? even if the line were clean that wouldnt be a good throw so first off you should come up with a different throw..then when you done that sketch your throw a billion times on scrap paper with no fill just ouline it will makes you lines smoother...as for filling your throw with paint dont do random fills everywhere do smoth lines from one side of a letter to the other but still keeping your motion of the can a bit speedy so you avoid drips like on your outline your keeping the can in one place to long. also with your outlines make it one line not a whole bunch of short ones liek your doing a messy sketch wiht a pencil it makes it look sloppy and toy.
