then you have come to the wrong place. most of this forum just laughs at stuff. not a whole lot of constructive critism around here.

Welp, here goes. When you start you lines you get drips. You need to not hold the can so long in the same spot when you start your lines. You know what i mean? Look at your picture. When you start your lines do you see the big black circle and then the drips? Yea, thats not because the krylon was watery. its because you didnt start moving fast enough and you made it drip. Also it looks like the speed of your outline is really inconsistant. Do you see how some of the lines are really faint but some of the others are real bold? Its faint because you were going to fast or didnt have it pointed at the wall right or were too far away. Keep the can the same distance from the wall and move it the same speed and dont stay in the same spot for so long because thats why you are getting those drips&#33; As far at your letter structure goes, its really weak. There is really no flow to it at all. None of the letters really look good. You need to do something else with the O. The two lines in the middle are pretty toy. Just practice a TON in your blackbook. I wouldnt worry about painting right now. You wont really get anything out of it. Keep it up though and define your own style. Post your sketches in the blackbook thread and get help there. Id stay away from paint for a while. Unless you have a vast and disposable income. If you do insist on painting hang out under bridges and in tunnles and places like that. You will learn can control and how to make the letters proportional and stuff like that, but you REALLY need to work on letter structure above all of that. Hope that helps.

Alright, thanks for the help. I know that drips get there from keepin the can in the same place for a long time, but I could&#39;ve sworn I wasn&#39;t doin that. Whatever, I was tired. I&#39;ll go sketch and work on my letter structure and all that now :D

That flick is a little over a month old, and i was rather poor for 8 of the months that i&#39;ve been "into the scene" or whatever these kids are calling it. Just statted actually painting more than once a week right after i did that piece. I&#39;m taking it a step at a time, Taking my own advice, and keeping myself out of shit. I never said i was an amazing writer. I&#39;m non-existant, people don&#39;t know what i write, or who i am. Because i&#39;m a toy, which i get. But there is obvious progression.

yea...for real...thats terrible. Over a years time to progress that much? The fill looks kinda clean...but those letters are terrible. The outline is sketchy as hell too. Stop talking about progression and how you have grown as a writer. It hasnt happened. Over a year... <_<

nah dude...those arnt good at all. as for the hallow...there is really no uniform structure to the letters. I know that all the letters dont need to have the same structure...but there needs to be flow to it. Some of your letters are all rounded edges...the other letters are all sharp edges. Some are bigger, some are smaller. Some are at an angle, some arnt. Some parts of the bomb have drop shadow, some dont. Its terribly inconsistant and no flow. I know you said "drunken hollow" and all, but that is bad. And if the stuff above that is sober...well then...

They used real writers(NYC writers mostly Ket,daze,cope2,Ja... ya know) help for like some on the info and lettering styles, but I see what your saying though if like a good game design company and some sick writers get in it :o and as long as its like free roam too...I hate places with boundaries, but theres sooooo many Ideas that I have... got off topic a lil but w/e. let me say again, toys should not be painting a lot, preferably not on the street at all. just enough to make sure that you can control keeps up with ur drawing skills, or itl take u forever when u get good to put ur sketches on the wall nicely. this thread should really only about tips for painting, tips on structure and everything should go in bbooks, but that doesnt really matter.

finally, this should be a friendly place, im gonna put it bluntly, there are those of us that are signifigantly better then others in here, but we all suck compared to the big boys. were just trying to work together to get there. none of us should be talking shit.

This is an awsome spot. This wall is trackside and people come here all the time at night and have partys. Like...bring stereos, beer, have fires. Thats why the wall is burnt. The cops are starting to crack down on it, but this is a sweet spot where people go to just hang out and stuff.
