Refridgerate Paint

Hey sometimes I refridgerate some krylon cans that are higher pressure (like glossy white) when doing details to lower the pressure. Sometimes tho it seems like the paint is not as smooth. Do you think the paint is getting to thick in the fridge?

I know when you keep a Krylon in a heated(radiator) spot it intends to burst...

I don't know about a fridge or anything..

the coldness from the fridge is fucking up the pressure making you're paint thick and shitty. Same shit will happen if you got cans in you're bag in like -20º weather

the warmer paint is the smoother it will come out of the can..refridgerateing paint would only make it thicker, and the pressure would go back to normal as soon as the can was no longer cold, which doesnt take very long.

i used to refrigerate paint it didnt do much and yes it does make it thicker

it makes it "thicker" yes, but it comes out in globs...and unless you could find a way to keep it cold all the time the paint would just go back to normal as soon as it reached room temperature

^^^^ too add to what tony said, the paint will indeed come out in "globs". it'll just be little splatters that really are'nt good for shit, little concentrated squirts that would be shitty for fills, and that much worse for outlines. Not a worth while task.

were u really stoned, me and my buds tried to make potcorn one day while tokin (take marijauna seeds, coat them in butter and put them in the microwave)

refrigerating it wont do a lot unless its kept refrigerated for a long time, and you shouldnt expose your cans to any to hot, they will explode

Refridgeration is not a good idea. If you want to drop the pressure on, say, a can of Krylon glossy white, just piss out some of the pressure before you use any of the paint (flip it upside down and just spray). It&#39;s pretty simple and it works. Another thing you can do is press the cap down about halfway when you&#39;re painting. If you don&#39;t press the cap down enough, you get globs, but it&#39;s pretty easy to figure out the happy medium where you don&#39;t have blobs spraying out, but you don&#39;t have the paint blasting out at the fuckin speed of sound. Orange dots seem to work best for the last technique.

some people like to paint with low pressure. it gives a bit more control but if the paint is thicker then it doesn&#39;t matter. if you want low pressure just have the can upside down and press down on the cap and no paint should come out, just air.

well, since the answer is no apparently, there is alot of extra pressure when you are done with a can of paint. so unless you let like 50% of the pressure out of the can, it wont run out early, and i sitll think you would have to let way more than that out because of the way such things work...

refridgerating cans is a stupid way to lower pressure.
learn to paint with high pressure first? then it wont be a problem

there is a chemical in the spray paint that makes the pressure so u dont really have to worry about losing pressure. but the chemical does wear off. i u want alot of pressure then shake the can and spray if u dont want very much pressure the shake can turn upside down and spray the clear gas out(the gas that makes the pressure) and paint with the wanted presure

cold paint doesnt work good.
you want low pressure cans? use walmart cans. the pressure and spray is really slow, but only like 3 colors actually cover very well.
or just use scrap cans, then let just a little aerosol out.

I only refrigerate my cans when im doing a ghetto mix. which is me heating up a can and cooling one off. Its mad complicated but i can do it with a pen and tape. And its the scariest shit in the world.
