those highlights in the 3d are hot shit... i think the last B is the most solid structure-wise and the extensions work the best on that letter too... not too sure about changing colors every letter, itd look nice with like a top and bottom faded in the middle or something... i might be weird but i always color my pieces before i ink the outline

when its just an outline its nice as fuck but when you colour it it turns out a bit sloppy i dont know what you could do to change maybe make it bigger or move the letters closer together....

also you might want to colour it all and not have white spaces and maybe cut down on some of the more useless extensions

edit2. also some of the structure is a bit off and you might want to look towards symmetry like in the farthest right extension on the k

You haven't a clue what you're talking about huh? Duke's piece LOOKS nice, but his letters aren't to great, and he's just relying on extensions and colors to make people go, "wow". Wow, i had no idea an exchange pic would cause such a disturbance haha. I've never claimed to be the best writer, or have the best letters or really claimed to be anything. But i wanna clear up that i dont need anyone defending me, im a big boy and should be able to take any criticism lol. Kinky id like to thank you for giving me some constructive criticism, because i do need it. Although i dont agree with all what was said, it should be my decision to choose weather i want to take that advice, so thank you again Kinky for respecting me enough not to baby me with complements.

The evolution of how i learned graffiti (or what i know of graffiti) was kinda of backwards, and started doing 3, 4, and 5 colour pieces when i was pretty young, where the concept of letter structure really didn't exist, so its been difficult to break bad habits. And in all honestly, proper letter structure is pretty new to me, and im still having a hard time understanding the dichotomy of it, of what is right and wrong. And clearly many writers are having a difficulty defining what strong letters look like. Graffiti is essentially self regulated and so defining quality becomes almost impossible, as it is so personal, it was this idea that made me fall in love with graff in the first place, the concept of a realm without rights and wrongs, but just existing as is, without any particular philosophical undertone than just being. Being overly critical of others in the graffiti community undermines the simplicity and beauty that i think graff should have in theory.

i think everyone just needs to chill out, sketch, paint, and continue to learn before flooding forums with bullshit.

all you need to do is define your letters more in your peices maybe cut down on some of the extensions or put a little bit of space inbetween your letters so you have space to show and shape is better

I do understand letter structure.
I was trying to shape the piece different, sort of like <>, you know? And I didn't see a way to be able to do that without making the letters thin on the sides. But then, if all the bars were thin, there would have been a fuck ton of negative space in the middle. That was the first time I really fucked with that type of style, and most likely the last, but I do understand what you mean.

sizer & armen - both looking better. and armen on that piece you have a lit of dead space under your E because the bottom bar connecting to your N should probably be curved down like the loop under your A (or just non existent because it looks odd imo) but you could also create the symmetry by curving that loop off the back of the A up like the odd EN connection. play with it a little do whatever you like lol or just leave it

In the Mason piece, to me it just looks like a lot of negative space in the first part, while the second half is more squashed together. As far as the letters, they match. I just mean spacing.

And yeah, that bar on the G is One of the two things I wanted to change about my sketch. I was going to curve that bar you circled instead of blocking it off like that, though. I thought that might match the structure of the piece a little better. Thanks for the crits!

Yeah, for real. My piece wasn't anything close to a wildstyle, I barely used extensions. I'm sorry you're shake line work and ill-structured letters don't tickle a more keen eye's fancy (and I'm exaggerating, of course.)

Keep at your letters, develop some style, and then try and post here again. The toy thread will offer you better crits, I mean, I put half of my stuff there myself (I consider myself the worst out of the guy that gave me props, I'm still toy and you have a long way to go).

Mad props to squint. That 15 letter hollow is gorgeous.

As for bombs I've done, GOYA is a new name, so I haven't flicked it too much. I did this bomb not incredibly long ago, definitely not the cleanest I can do...

bilnek- pretty solid. im not feelin some of the drastic thick to thin, on the e's especially
weak- dope. if ur blending letters though, try doin it throughout the whole piece. i wanna see a better flick of that big hollow
safe- just not feelin the f where it cuts back in and some of the extra tidbits on the other letters as well. nice though
