ummm it's a cursive based style, these were obviously just quick pen sketches that i threw together, and im still workin on it.

take off the arrow on the left, and the halo..... and unless you are going for it... the letters get unproportionally bigger as you get to the "ns" so either make it all get bigger proportionally or keep it all the same size.

Pesk- Nice letters, good flow. The only thing I&#39;d suggest to get it to flow a bit more is to not write it so straight across. curve it or go small to big to give it that extra little bump of attitude. The underline is kind of uninspired too, but the letters are hot and that&#39;s the meat and potatoes of it.

ATESK- that Amens tag is lookin real good too.

thanks bowser...means alot. im not gunna lie and act like it doesnt feel good to have my artwork appreciated. ya my style is different from many of the others i&#39;ve seen out there but its my own and i only hope i can continue to improve it. thanks to big cez to for the compliment also.

fsmith: I think the way it is the I is boxing the 3 central letters a bit too much. The I lends itself to doing what you are doing with it being in the centre and all, but it looks kind of really constricted how it is. I&#39;d like to see it without the larger S and H, keep them similar style but drop the size just to see how it will look if you were to carry the ends of your I right over and below them. Hope that makes some sence.

Alright, I got a question... would it be bad if I made it just "mith" or "mith1"? I really like those letters and quite frankly, the S was giving me troubles anyways, I have an idea for a different tag without the S too already.

I&#39;ve just been doing some sketches of mithone, and I really like the way they&#39;re turning up.

I hear what you&#39;re saying about mith2 or something else though, it makes sense, i&#39;m just upset about all this because I&#39;ve been using the name fsmith1 as an alias since I was five years old; that&#39;s over 13 years now, more than half my life. It just really means something to me. The thing is with fsmith1 it&#39;s just way too long.

I dunno, I see tons of guys with one in their name and such, and it usually implies the person is a oner, which I am, but the number is also really significant to me too.

You know what, fuck it, the name means too much to me to give up right now and I&#39;m still a toy and everything so it&#39;s not going to cause any problems. Am I really in the wrong with this thought?

It&#39;s too bad Smith is a legend, cuzz that Smith tag you did is actually really hot. The mith one&#39;s are kinda wack tho. It&#39;s got like a Dr. suess cursive thing goin on. #1- get ten spiral notebooks for a buck at Wallmart. Fill those ten books with the alphabet...
#2- try switching up the sizing of the letters, don&#39;t just write it straight across.
#3- Enlarge and reverse the quotations. He did the "fat man in little coat" mistake where the tag wears the tiny quotes like an undersized jacket... Fatten them up, elongate them, and spin them out so they slightly point at the tag.
#4- Don&#39;t do karaks till you got somethin good to work off of.

...#5- If all that sounds like to much work, you could just join a gang. They write graffiti, but it doesn&#39;t require any style. :lol:

You&#39;ve really got a handle on sticking with one style and size through the whole tag, but I have to say that it&#39;s really quite hard to read and I don&#39;t really feel the flow of it. Try fooling around with some different styles and giving some emphasis to a few of the letters, finding some places where the stroke could follow from one letter to the next to create more flow.

Does it really matter if someone else writes it? Unless they&#39;re name is big, or they&#39;re in your area, I don&#39;t see why it&#39;s a big deal. Your style should seperate you.
Besides, before the internet, do you think people bothered checking to make sure no one else in the world wrote the same thing as them?

Fitzy, I don&#39;t know if I&#39;m reading it right but it looks to me like it says "fuse" and the tag really isn&#39;t too bad, it&#39;s just that the E kinda looks like an afterthought. I think the tag could go without the line through the S, and the extensions on the U, also, try to find a way to make the E seem more connected.

Anyways to Sage and Atesk:

Atesk, kinda hard to read but it looks nice. I don&#39;t like the halo, they just always look out of place to me. I would try making the star at the end a bit bigger.

Sage, keep working on it dude, it needs a lot of work, I don&#39;t want to sound like a prick or anything but it&#39;s the truth. Try looking at pictures of tags and see what makes their tag a &#39;tag&#39; if you know what I mean, try to incorporate similar aspects (without biting) into your own work.

Fitzy, I agree with fsmith on that one. Also try and make the &#39;F&#39; a little simpler too. Then it would be a nice tag.

Yeah I&#39;m that guy.. I know the band, name wasn&#39;t inspired by them, just inside jokes. That second style was pretty much made up on the spot, so it looks pretty stupid. As long as it ain&#39;t straights..

For the first pic I used a big poster marker racked from paper plus, don&#39;t know why you&#39;d want to know that.. but yeah

A way to get good flare is start close then trail off when doing the edge of the tag... The best paint for flare is Montana Platnum

And I think it could look better, use a better style rather than a simple one.

Copie, I&#39;d suggest working on the whole alphabet, just scour these tag threads and see how some of the more advanced toys and pros do their tags and you&#39;ll quickly learn the do&#39;s and don&#39;ts, the problem right now is that you&#39;ve just got two jaggy letters with no flow between them. Try writing out the two letters you&#39;ve got in as many different ways as possible, and eventually one will kinda stick. I&#39;m still quite the toy m&#39;self, but I at least think I&#39;m a pretty keen observer, so hopefully my advice makes sense to you.

Also, sorry those other guys are being douchebags, so far I&#39;ve found there&#39;s about a 30/70 split of assholes to helping hands. I just don&#39;t understand the asshole attitude, because seriously, none of us *want* to see shitty graffiti, and being a jerk just keeps that shit going. I&#39;d love to see a thread full of nothing but dope work, with a huge group of people all trying to help eachother improve.

G-wahl: I like em both, I really like the Y on zoy but I like capo more overall. I guess it also depends on how the name is big too. I&#39;d say, if I had to pick I&#39;d go capo, but you may want to work on the a.

Bomb Amb: Honestly, I think you just need to work on the letters. It&#39;s not bad because I&#39;ve seriously seen some much worse stuff, but it still isn&#39;t even close to great. Bring some more of your own style into it because right now it looks really generic. Especially work on the E, but that doesn&#39;t mean not to work on the rest.

Bouncing: I really dig it man, it looks dope. How do those letters look big though? I&#39;d think it might be a little long to make a nice throwie, but would probably great for burners and such.

The one in the bottom right is the best of the bunch, but you still really need to work on the lettering there mang, especially the G. Right now it looks like you&#39;re trying to hard to make the G look unique, and it&#39;s turning out to be barely recognizable as a result. Just go basic as hell for a while, make the letters real simple and then flesh out from there. Write it out over and over and over and until your own little flourishes start to appear. Also, the S needs a little bit more curve in some area (top or bottom) in order to make it look more recognizable as an S instead of a G.

^^^looks good man. i personally like the "stile" tag better than the "poise" one... the upper left sliver on black, "stiles" tag looks the best. i also like the one underneath it. the rest need alotta work. the only thing i with the good looking ones i would do is take the little tab extending from the back of the "e" off. it ruins the flow of your "l" cause it makes it look like it&#39;s part of it. also i really like your tags. they show great potential. keep workin on them as much as possible and you will have a sick hand style in the near future. peace.

Thanks, yeah it&#39;s a calligraphy tip, but it&#39;s a cheap can of paint. And with the cheap cans of paint they have the weird nozzles, and all cans comes with calligraphy caps.

And ****, shaddup, my shit is consistent and I think my letters and size are decent... Well my size may not be equal on each letter but once you get better you can start breaking rules and it looks better starting off short, peaking then going back down again... Guess and check for a LOOOONG time led to that... Just write your name over and over again and you&#39;ll get it eventually.
