to actually make your ink thicker you can use house paint or molasses

to make it less opaque use more ink/leather dye and less brake fluid/stainer/nail polish remover

SAy how much brake fluid should be used in a mop like a Kiwi Bottle filled with the original ink?

WELL I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS GOING TO WORK FOR YOU, BUT IT WORKED FOR ME. GET SOME CHALK AND BREAK IT DOWN IN TO A POWDER FORM. ANY COLOR CHALK WORKS JUST GET THE COLOR YOU WANT AND ADD IT TO YOUR INK. IT SHOULD MAKE IT NICE AND THICK. :P

IF YOU ARE USING THE ORIGINAL INK OF THE KIWI MOP I SAY YOU ADD OTHER THINGS TO IT. JUST TO MAKE IT STAIN. I PERSONALY PUT SOME OF THE INK OF BIC PENS, BLUE AND RED WORK THE BEST. THEN JUST ADD A FEW DROPS OF BRAKE FLUID NOT TOO MUCH CUZ THEN ALL YOU HAVE IN YOUR MOP IF OIL. YOU JUST HAVE TO EXPERIMEND, NEVER BE AFFRAID TO TRY NEW THINGS.

when ever you have thick ink or paint to put in a marker you should allways thin it out. Unless its for a mop.

nah man dont use the silver bucket paint with ount thinning it out a bit it works fine in kiwi mops and like face painters but comeing through a stiff nib like otr montana ect it wont go threw and so dont do that it'll mess ur marker up. just remember ink is usually the best choice for markers.

if you want thiker ink it depends on what its made of my boy made me some ink and to make it thiker he poured it out in a tray to evaporate some of the liquids in it but like i said it depends on what type of ink i dont think it will work with ahlcohol based inks .just test a little bit first so u dont waste all ur ink B)

if you have a fair bit of alchohol based ink that you want to make thicker, pour some into a pastic container and let it dry out completely. crush it up and turn it into a powder and add it back in. it makes it more opaque and thicker.

what type of inks are alchohol based?

no silver paint wont work....

or any paint for that manner....

cuz it will seperate the thinner and the paint. unless u like use it every 4-5 hrs lol.... and the powdery silver stuff will clog the nib and when u try to write itll write transparent cuz the paint thinnner goes to the top of the nib. to arrange thise... change the nib for chalkboard eraser felt... does the same buts since its less dense a bit of pressing to rid the xtra thinner b4 a first tag of the day and itll work again.

if ur paint is too thin try adding a marbles or bbs so u can shake it and itll mix the ink up.

stop bringing up old threads, especially if you're not going to answer the question properly.
the problem with ink that's too thin has nothing to do with it mixing, especially if it's ink since the ingredients in ink don't tend to seperate... that's paint that has ingredients seperate. ink that's too thing might be leaky or drip too much, or be less permanent than a thicker ink.

to thin ink you can evaporate the solvent.. which is usually alcohol. use heat but don't overheat, be safe so you don't hit the flash point (where it catches fire).

you could also add pigments to not only thicken the ink, but also to add more, stronger opaque color to the ink. but with the addition of pigment you may need to add a marble or something to shake it up, as the pigment COULD seperate. if you have no access to pigment, than you can use cigarette ashes to thicken it, but you also need to add a marble to keep it mixed up.
