post you favorite punk bands and talk about which ones suck and all that good stuff. FUCK mainstream pop simple plan green day garbage, ive had enough of it.

heres some bands to start this off.

Sex pistols, ramones, the clash, the germs, the exploited, sucicide machines, millencollin, choking victim, pennywise, misfits, danzig, antartica vs the world, rancid, gg allin and all of his bands, lars frederiksen and the bastards, sublime, buck-0-nine, anti-flag, OLD afi, the dwarves, juggheads revenge, the offspring (theyre older stuff is better.) duane peters and the hunns, US bombs, ghost runner on third (theyre like the only good emo ish band in the world). pepper, johnny thunders and the destroyers, subhumans, uk subs, total chaos, bad religion, and yes i do like blink 182, theyre about the only pop-punk i can listen to. NOFX, older goldfinger, the vandals, bad brains, gang green, toxic narcotic, defiance, athourity zero, the ruts, the damned ect... cant think of anymore rite now.

and mods, please give this a chance i know theres some punkers in here.

Punks garbage, if you liek rock punk is gonna kill it, the beatles jimi hendrix linard skinard, all them they were rock, now blue haired, eye borwed ring peps are destroying what they created. The only punk i listen to now is Casualties, Ramones, basically any band that defined punk. Fuck all this new crap, i can't make head or tails of it.

the exploited - new shit is horrible, they have another guy come in and do there solos for them.
millencollin - pop punk
misfits - theres nothing jerry only hasn't done to make the misfits anymore of a joke. way past sold out. 77 to 83 is the only shit worth listening to.
danzig - danzig 1 is punk, the rest just gets kinda weird.
rancid - mainstream
gg allin and all of his bands - racist
lars frederiksen and the bastards - mainstream
sublime - not punk.
anti-flag - alright, anti flag started out ok. I listened to them. I liked how they were against capitalism. and then they sold there anti capitalist patches at the mall.
OLD afi - davey havoc clings to danzigs nutsack so bad you couldn't pry it off with a blow torch and a sledge hammer.
the offspring - main stream pop
total chaos - street punk is dead.
bad religion - mainstream pop
and yes i do like blink 182, theyre about the only pop-punk i can listen to - you listed like a billion pop punk bands.
the vandals - pop punk
defiance - mediocer
athourity zero - horrible.




I didn't do this to be a dick. half the bands you listed were ska bands. ska is not punk. and the other bands are either pop punk bands or bands that are dead or are playing dead music. Theres a fine line between popular music and pop punk. literally the only band thats a keeper is gang green.


there are literally a billion and a half awesome underground punk bands that split into a bunch of different sub genres. I'm not saying that you shouldn't listen to the bands you listen to. listen to whatever you want but if you want to hear some really awesome bands that are around or have broken up then here ya go.

Underground/gangster/pop type/old school/new school..and a few others i cant think of right now...i listen to new age underground..like Looptroop/promoe/classified/lexicon...those are some of the best rap artists in the world id say, because the beats are at just the right tone as the rapping, and the raps arent damb repetetive words.. its stuff about real life.

I started off with The Ramones and The Casualties.. I dont really care anymore, I just listen to whatever I like. Motion City Soundtrack is good to listen too, I also like The academy is. Ben Folds is fucking amazing (althoug hes far from punk Im gonna mention him anyway) Weezer is also good, their new album isnt spectacular or anything but their still good. I like alot of the beats from rap but shit like 50-cent just pisses me off... I like 1 song by eminem... Mosh, mostly cause I hate G. Dubya. I dont fall into a specific category music wise..... if you were gonna categorize me though I&#39;d probably fall into like Indie... and honestly I dont give a shit if you can kick my ass or dont like my taste in music, the only thing I care about is being able to be the best graffiti artist I can and make my pieces appealing to the eyes and have more people like them, and maybe even have a message in them sometimes. Im all for living for the moment and living like your gonna die tomorrow so I hope all you kids on here grow up and realize that having the biggest balls isnt going to affect your life 20 years from now (except maybe if your spending it in prison.... you fuck).

saw matchbook romance, hopesfall, thrice, alexisonfire, horror pops, underoath and dropkick murphy&#39;s.
and the transplants,
all of them were remarkable but underoath definately put on the best show.

I&#39;m picky when it comes to my punk rock but I love Refused, Whiskey Rebels, Peelander-Z, Treephort, Humble Gods, Dead Milkmen,Fastbacks, Infected. I like some other bands too but those are the ones that I go to their shows, buy their records.... Yeah some are "Hardcocre" and "J-Punk" and "Pop-Punk" and "Street Punk" or whatever but breaking it down past punk makes me sick as does the "punk lifestyle", "live fast die young", "fuck the goverment because my parents grounded me" attitudes.

Anyways all you hip hoppers that are hating on punk and all you punks hating on hip hop...Hip Hop and Punk are the same thing. Even if you don&#39;t want to admit it.

ahaha I herd those guys were crazy. Like I was talking to one of the older punk heads who told me that back in the day those guys came through Cleveland. They set up a cardboard wall seperating the audiance into a privlaged side and an oppressed side they even got guys to dress up like guards and patrol the wall. Half way through their show the oppressed side just smashed through the wall and next thing he knew cardboard scraps were just flying everywhere in this crazy circle pit.

I got to see rambo in syracuse and i&#39;ll be seeing them in philly in august. the crowd members bring cardboard props that are all fatigued out and people make tanks and choppers and shit that they can wear and go nuts.


municipal waste was rad, i&#39;ll be seeing them in philly as well. they had a boogie board so kids would stage dive with it and surf the crowd on a boggie board. and then everyone circle pitted outside the venue around it for one song. i got to hear there new lp and its amazing.


i run a distro with my friends and i also help my 2 other friends record companies so when you describe a band when your trying to sell there record it goes a little beyond just punk. thats why i broke everything down in my list. the punk lifestyle might be a bit cliche in your eyes but if you look for it there are plenty of people trying to fight the state and its not because they&#39;re mad at there parents. its because there trying to better there life.

Yea, i like Green Days old albums liek Dookie was their best, but now they are all shit and gay i hate their music now. All i have to say is you cannot beat Classic Rock no matter what. Punk is not appealing to listen for me.

the show in baltimore was only 18+ untill a few days before the date. even when it was made all ages i only saw about 2 or 3 kids that you could tell were younger.

I listen to some "ROCK" and like some. But some rock labeled music makes no fucking sense. Especially heavy metal and all that jazz. WTF is so fucking appealing about it though? I personally think any one who cares to dress any way they want with nut hugger pants and fucked up hair, is cool but some people just do it because they want fucking attention. I dont think santana is qualified PUNK ROCK. More alternative, but I do love the rythms of guitar. I like LP and The Gorillas to.

i got back a couple weeks ago from a small tour wit my band, we played cleveland and cincinnatti warped tours and some other venues, that was some crazy shit. big d owned as usual, the bled was mad good too. im not really into punk that much so i was at the code of the cutz stage most of the time, they had some ill mc&#39;s. gym class heroes and lords of broooklyn were amazing, a relief from the mass amount of winey ass emo voices. there was mad writers in cleveland too so it was cool, a couple of the members of lordz of brooklyn used to write and had montanas and graffed trucker hats fo sale at their merch table. anyone goin to the leftover crack 9/11 tribute?

i found this flyer online a little while ago. it was on a page of flyers from all over the country of old school hardcore shows. and i was positively amazed that it was from my tiny little piss ass town. i was saddened that shit like this used to go down and now there&#39;s not a trace of anything like it anywhere in the city. at all. all the kids into anything that doesn&#39;t suck and isn&#39;t totally mainstream all move to philly as soon as they can.

thats pretty tough man i wish i wash able to make a guitar short circuit with blood i guess i&#39;ll have to settle with getting blood on a school drumkit and some random guy&#39;s sticks and the best part it wasn&#39;t even my schools kit.

if you like ska, catch 22 and streetlight manifesto are a MUST.
namely catch 22&#39;s "keasby nights". the rest of their stuff is pretty meh, but keasby nights is the definition of good 3rd wave ska. Their singer/guitarist/writer, Thomas Kalnoky (who left after keasby nights and when on to form streetlight manifesto) is a god. Keasby Nights has to be my favorite album of all time.
