To answer your question,You can do flairs with any cap at all including stock caps. Which i actually like mixing it up and use it once and a while.
But as for fat caps, a German Fat cap is what i learned with.

Get some Krylon flat black or white or some Krylon satin(Basically anything but rusto) and your good to go. With NY fats, they have a hollow center and harder edges with US paint, so there pretty nice to do some flairs with.

That was done with a german outilne and chrome rusto. That oden one on there that is.
They mist nice.
Ny thins are great as well for thin flairs, thats more in the rist then the distance if you ask me but there good.
Practice man. Experimentation with stuff like this is key.

My favorite shit to do is huge flair tags, ecspecially when im like, on my tippy toes and theres a nice cup at the top like in those oslo tag flicks.
MTN hardcore and a german fat is my favorite combination ive used so far.
