Hey... I've seen alot of you having problems with your computer so i thought i would post some stuff to help make it better.... feel free to add anything i dont have!



Startup Utilities
Never use MSConfig to disable startup programs no matter what others have recommended. MSConfig is for troubleshooting purposes only. If you use it to disable startups and then run the program, you may cause what is known as a "memory leak" which does all sorts of strange things to your system. And disabling programs and services with it can get you into trouble that only a repair install can get you out of. geezspot look for an utility online for that... its easier then doing it yourself. windows usually has one that comes installed with it... a lil program that formats but keeps some files if u want and stuff like that...

man my lil sis killed my cd burner i think... aneways not working since 2 days... she got a hold on my cd's of anime and watched em all morning in the cd burner drive... thing was so damn hot when i got on... and like some of the white plastic inside is abit brownish like burnt :( i think she overheated it...

C2 Media and Lop Spyware: gets rid of lop files that slow down your computer.
Tune Up Utilities 2004: very useful program that cleans your computer of unwanted files and makes it faster as well as your internet connection.
Registry Firt Aid: fixes your registry... gets rid of all those shortcuts or directories that dont exist of have nothin in them and much more.

if you dragged the whole folder dont do that, just drag the program next to one of the ones on your toolbar and it should work..i just tried it myself

This is where the quick launch toolbar items are located on windows xp,
im guessing you want the show desktop button?
im pretty sure that button is included already. just right click on yor toolbar, go to toolbars and make sure quick launch is activated. it should work after that.

C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

if its the show desktop button aint there, you can always just rightclick on yor toolbar and selesct show desktop...

hope that makes any sense.

press the window key and then "M" to do the same thing (if you&#39;re using windows)

i normally hate helping people with computers becuase it&#39;s not that hard to learn about them. All it took was a little research of guides on the internet and then building my own pc to get a good amount of experience with them. For advanced stuff you need to read websites meant fr more advanced users. In a very short time (few months) you&#39;ll probably be an experienced user. I personally did a little bit of research then built my first computer then read around and articipated on tech forums and learned about programming and took interships at computer places. All it takes is a little effort, the internet is the greatest library of information ever. as a major part of computer technology, most of that information concerns computers. It tok me a year to do all that stuff i meantioned, now i can stay up-to-date and i can get good jobs that require computer skills. In addition it&#39;s just fun to play computer games, host servers, program and use other applications. Just set aside some time every day to reading and you&#39;ll get it. It also doesnt hurt to know a few people who are god with computers. I frequently go talk with people who know a lot about this field like the network administrator at my school. Wouldn&#39;t you rather be a power user than be controlled by a world you know nothing about?

I&#39;ve got Limewire cause it&#39;s Mac compatible. It&#39;s good and I&#39;ve downloaded so many divx&#39;s but sometimes the download rate can be a bit slow.

Finding out what song it is you like

Note: I&#39;m not sure if this works in the US.

If there&#39;s a video you&#39;re watching, and you like the current song on it, call 2580 on your mobile, listen to the women then quickly hold your phone up to the speakers. Hold it there for about 30 seconds, after, they&#39;ll hang up. For a better result hold it there during the chorus.

A few seconds later they&#39;ll text you the artist and name of the song. It costs you 50p however.

This doesn&#39;t really work on UK garage very well.

On any vending machine made by coke press the 4th item then 2nd then 3rd then 1st to bring up the debug menu then use the first and second items to select wut you want to do some of the options are cash dump, dumps out its balence and the money it has made(good) and you can set up 2-4-1 deals or make the pop really expensive or free wutever.yes i know this is from "the anarchists cookbook" but it works so..

Yes i have tryed the vending machine thing and i have gotten to the point were it would like you to press select for cash option but i didnt do it because im not a thief some of the big huge vending machines can hold hundreds and mhc you need to have more faith in your felow man,think about what you said "you can&#39;t get any free drinks or money from that menu" well then why would there be a menu with options like cash,balence ect if it cant do anything ? :ph34r:

We will gradually proceed to more sophisticated locks from here. I would like to remind you that success is not based on personality. If one is arrogant about one&#39;s lockpicking skills, one could easily be made a fool of by a lock. And no matter how many times you bash a cylinder, you will still be locked out. The only thing you accomplish is attracting an audience - so be cool.

If at this point you have had much difficulty understanding the principles of pin and wafer locks, please restudy this book from the beginning. Read it several times so as to absorb it. The information that you now have has taken me almost two decades to gather, so please be mindful of that.

Now you are about to learn how to open the more difficult locking mechanisms - some of the other 25 percent of the locks used today. You should feel confident with pin, wafer and double-wafer tumbler locks before you attempt rim cylinder locks.

Tubular cylinder locks stand out as the most generally accepted lock in all important industries using high-quality locks for protection of property, merchandise, and cash. They are recognized as giving the maximum amount of security for their price range.

Tubular cylinder locks are pin tumbler locks arranged on a circular plane. Unlike conventional pin tumbler locks, all of the pins are exposed to the eye. The central section of the lock rotates to operate the cam when all of the seven pins have reached their breaking points. When the proper key is entered into the lock, the tumblers are pressed into position so that the central section (plug) can be turned. This manual operation of inserting the key places the tumblers in position so that the lock can be operated and ensures that frost, dust, salt, or unfavorable climatic conditions will not affect the smooth operation of the lock.

The Chicago Ace lock is a product of the Chicago Lock Company of Chicago, Illinois. It is an effective security device and is used on vending machines, coin boxes, and burglar alarms. A larger, more complex version of it is used on bank doors and electronic teller machines. The key is of tubular shape with the cuts arranged in a circle around the key.

The pick used for this lock is the tubular cylinder pick, or you may use a straight pin or your homemade safety pin pick. The one-pronged end of the tension wrench is a little more specialized and is used for rim cylinder locks. It must be .062 inches square for best results. Any square steel stock is acceptable, as long as it fits snugly into the groove of the tubular cylinder plug.

This type of lock is a burglar&#39;s nightmare because it takes so long to pick. You have to pick it three or four times to accomplish the unlocking radius of 120 to 180 degrees. And the cylinder locks after each time you pick it - every one-seventh of a turn.

If you leave the lock only partly picked, the key will not be able to open it, so you must pick it back into the locked position after opening it - another three or four picking sessions. In all, to unlock and lock the cylinder, you have to pick it up to eight times - quite a chore if you don&#39;t have the right tools or time.

These locks almost always pick in the clockwise direction. Make certain that the tension wrench fits snugly into the groove on the cylinder. Very slowly push the first pin down until it clicks, maintaining a definite clockwise pressure on the tension wrench. Once the tumbler has broken, do not push any further and proceed to the next one, and so on. As you reach the last tumbler, the tension wrench will feel more slack and give way if the lock were properly picked.

There are special keyhole saws for these locks in which you drill out the tumblers and turn the cylinder. Also there is a special tool used by locksmiths to open rim cylinder locks.

actually it seems that they have addressed the external access on pop machines.and inside is the only place it seems it works on the new ones.

PREFACE
Coke vending machines are everywhere. They&#39;re getting more and more like regular computers with LEDs that show little "ICE COLD" messages and whatnot. Well, there&#39;s a lot more to those little built-in computers than you may think. Included in the low-level operating system that these babies run on is an actual debug menu that gives you access to all sorts of machine information and possibly gives you free cokes in older machines.



WHICH MACHINES WORK?
There&#39;s a very strict list of vending machines that have the debug menu. First off, they&#39;re all COCA-COLA product vending machines. This means the giant, un-missable picture on the front must show any of the following: Coke, Dasani (Water), Barq&#39;s Root Beer, Vanilla Coke, Cherry Coke, Sprite, Evlan (water), Fanta, Fresca, Frutopia, Hi-C, Sprite Remix, Mad River, Mello Yello, Minute Maid, Nestea, Odwalla, Mr. Pibb/Pibb Xtra, Planet Java, Power Ade, Seagram&#39;s Ginger Ale, Simply Orange, Sparkletts, or Tab. Of course anything Diet or Caffeine free works too.
The machine must have an LED screen. Some of the older ones just allow the LED to be set to a price amount and won&#39;t have the debug menu. You&#39;re safer if the little LED is telling you something. Usually it will scroll a little message like "Ice Cold Cokes". Newer machines are more likely candidates.



ACCESSING THE MENU
To enter the menu, there&#39;s a button combination. HERE&#39;S THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO REALLY REMEMBER:

[4]-[2]-[3]-[1]

The buttons are numbered depending on how they are positioned. They will either be vertical (more likely), or in horizontal rows of 4 buttons per row. If it is vertical, the first button is #1, the one below it is #2, and so forth. If the buttons are in horizontal rows, the first button is #1, and the one to the right of it is #2. The numbers work like a type writer after that. In rows of 4, the first button of row 2 will be button #5. So, to review, getting in to the debug menu looks like this:

Some text should show up on the LED (probably the word "Error", we&#39;ll explain what it means next sections). If nothing happens, your machine doesn&#39;t have the debug menu.



NAVIGATION
To navigate from option to option (What they are is next section), remember the numberings we gave the buttons. They work as follows:
Button [ 1 ] - Exit/Back
Button [ 2 ] - Up
Button [ 3 ] - Down
Button [ 4 ] - Select



OPTIONS
Depending on the age of the machine, you will get a varying amount of default options available.
On older machines: SALE, VER, EROR, and RTN
On newer machines: CASH, SALE, EROR, and RTN

CASH - Machine Earnings Display
The CASH option will display how much money is in the machine currently. It generally takes a second or two to load. From here, you can scroll up and down through 12 or 16 different options, depending on the machine age. These other options display how much money was spent on each individual item, classified through its button (or slot, as I like to call it) number.
A neat side note about the slot numbers is that there are more slot numbers than there are actual slot, so usually the last 4 buttons contain zero money. This could be so that the same OS could be used on bigger machines, but the newer machines have even more slot numbers.

SALE - Total Sale Count
The SALE option displays how many drinks have been sold out of the machine. This tends to be cumulative, but not on all machines. The stock guy is probably supposed to reset this each time he re-stocks. Also, this has the same sub-options as the CASH option, where you can scroll up and down and see how many drinks have been sold from each slot.

VER - System/Machine Version?
This option will cause a large alphanumeric string to scroll across the LCD. The number looks very much like a serial number, but doesn&#39;t vary from machine to machine. It is most likely the OS or machine version number, but of the older machines that have the option, I haven&#39;t seen one that doesn&#39;t have the same number.

EROR - Error Log
There are 8 different types of errors - COLJ (Column Jams), VEnd (Vend Mechanism), door (Door Switch), sels (Select Switch), CHAR (Changer Errors), acce (Acceptor Errors), StS (Space-to-sales errors), and bVal (Bill Validators). The separate types and actual errors are useless, as you assumably can&#39;t get inside the machine, BUT(&#33;) you can clear the errors. Hold the enter (Number 4) button down for about 2 seconds, and it should clear the error.

RTN - Return
This is simply the return option. Selecting this will exit the debug menu. On newer machines, pressing the BACK button at the main menu will not exit, and RTN must be selected.
A side note: The menu can also be exited by pressing the coin return button.

EXTRAS
By holding in the coin return button and not releasing, on the newer "big-button" machines, this will display the internal temperature in Fahrenheit, as in "42F".

**Update**
There are many more menu options that are only accessible if they&#39;ve either been enabled from the computer inside the machine, or on the internal computer behind the door (Probably not feasible for you to access).

CPO - Coin Payout Mode
You can can dump coins from the coin mechanism, and the various menu options allow you to choose which type of coins (Nickels, dimes, etc.) are dumped.

tVFL - Tube Fill Mode
This is useless to you. This allows you to load coins into the coin tubes, which you can&#39;t do from the outside.

TEST - Test Routines
This allows you to test the following various routines:
SE Allows you to test the buttons. Will give you number
of button when you press it
SP Sold-out paddle test. Not quite sure, most likely internal function.
Su Sold-out switch test. Same as paddle.
CO Motor test. Will run various column motors.
Cn Coin test. Put in a coin and it will tell you what kind of
coin it is.
nA Note acceptor test. Same as Cn, but for bills.
dSP Display test. Will illuminate various LEDs.
vErS Rattles off version number.

RELY - Relay test
This tests the relay electronic control of various parts. Do not do, as it will cause damage if various internal parts are not unplugged before usage.

PASS - Password
This is not normally accessible, but allows you to change the menu password from the 4-2-3-1. Whoo&#33;

PrIC - Price Setting
Used to set the price for a drink. Not sure how to work it, but it seems simple enough.

StOS - Space-to-sales routine
Lets you change the STS routine and other options. This means that various buttons will all mean the same thing, i.e. the 6 coke buttons don&#39;t actually vend from 6 different columns, but vend from one (changing when one runs out of course).

COn - Machine Configuration/Permissions
This is the machine config menu that decides what of these options you are allowed to access through the outside panel. This is probably only accessible with the door open. I won&#39;t go into detail, but I&#39;ll list the Config numbers and what each do: C1 sets price menu on, C2 sets special (manufacturer) options on), C3 disables the "ICE COLD COKE" message. C4 is autoviewing of menu when door is opened, C5 is door switch status, C6 is mysteriously reserved for "future use", C7 determines whether your money credit stays in for 5 minutes or indefinitely, C8 is Force Vend, C9 allows multiple vends without putting in more money (i.e put in a 5 and get 3 cokes and then your change), and C10 is Escrow Inhibit.

CCoC - Correct Change Only Control
Adjusts Correct Change only rule to your liking.

TIME - Time Adjustment
Allows you to set the machine&#39;s local time.

LANG - Language Selection
Not sure how many languages are supported, but there are apparently more than just English.



USEFULNESS
Unless you can get behind the door, there&#39;s little you can do with this except impress your friends. However, if you&#39;re able to set the C-switches properly, you&#39;ll be able to manipulate the machine in any way you want, get free drinks, change the price, set up cool buy-one-get-one-free deals, etc, etc :). Not to forget, knowledge is power. One step closer to free sodas&#33;

Tired of being on an elevator and someone else gets on every floor you go down to? Well I was also, until I found out you could skip the floors that people would like to get on at. This works best in big office buildings with 30 floors and it sometimes takes like 15 minutes to get to floor 1. This is a really simple trick to do just to let you readers know.


Okay, the only thing you need to do is press down the close door button, and the floor you would like to go to at the same time.



Then it should skip all the floors that people want to get on and go straight to your floor that you would like to get off on. This can also piss some people off I would imagine. This trick has also worked on all the office elevators I have tried so far.

I find it works the easiest on:
Otis Elevators
Dover Elevators
And Most Desert Elevators

So have fun causing total elevator mayhem :P&#33;

DCForum&#39;s password file. This file gives a list of (crackable) passwords, usernames and email addresses for DCForum and for DCShop (a shopping cart program(&#33;&#33;&#33;). Some lists are bigger than others, all are fun, and all belong to googledorks. =)

This search brings up sites with "config.php" files. To skip the technical discussion, this configuration file contains both a username and a password for an SQL database. Most sites with forums run a PHP message base. This file gives you the keys to that forum, including FULL ADMIN access to the database.

eggdrop filetype:user user
These are eggdrop config files. Avoiding a full-blown descussion about eggdrops and IRC bots, suffice it to say that this file contains usernames and passwords for IRC users.

intitle:index.of.etc
This search gets you access to the etc directory, where many many many types of password files can be found. This link is not as reliable, but crawling etc directories can be really fun&#33;

filetype:bak inurl:"htaccess|passwd|shadow|htusers"
This will search for backup files (*.bak) created by some editors or even by the administrator himself (before activating a new version).
Every attacker knows that changing the extenstion of a file on a webserver can have ugly consequences.


Let&#39;s pretend you need a serial number for windows xp pro.

In the google search bar type in just like this - "Windows XP Professional" 94FBR

the key is the 94FBR code.. it was included with many MS Office registration codes so this will help you dramatically reduce the amount of &#39;fake&#39; porn sites that trick you.

Well, find the version and brand on scanner you have, then search on google. "version=name"trouble shoot. or Help or Software file replacement. That could work.

it still doesnt work..it says windows xp alrady has a driver for this scanner pre-installed and there are no new or older version to download. its an hp psc 500 all in one type thing. the printer doesnt work either

ok what are the file sizes?
incase ya dont know what to do just right click and go into properties.
if it&#39;s a reasonably large file size like a couple hundred megs the it&#39;s the movie or it&#39;s a compressed data chunk that contains the fuity movie goodness within the shell ( :D )
you can try one of these things.in gonna try to kill all possibilities in one shot so you get your answer

right click you&#39;ll see &#39;Open with" find another player in the list.like realplayer or what have you.this is if it is a video file.just change the player you want to open it with and click the "always open with" box before you select ok.now all those files will be automatically associated with the player

last but not least.
edit the filename and add a extension like .mpg or .avi which could work for ya.*make a copy of the file first, if you dont and it doesnt work and you dont remember the previous file extension it&#39;s gone*

if that dont work let me know what type of file it is and ill do what i can for ya.

ok right click inbetween the files
you should get a list of things
go to VIEW
then select detail

along the top you will see columns
one of them should be type
and match the two on the grid and voila u know what it is....sorta

ok so did your scanner work perfectly before?or has this problem been plaguing you since you got the scanner?

what i would do is completely uninstall the scanner and drivers.

try with the latest version of the drivers from your scanner, they&#39;re usuallyon the manufacturer&#39;s website.

if you still get the same error then try finding an older version of the driver, yes i know, newer is better, well atleast people think it is, but i find that sometimes the newest drivers can be buggy.

let me know if that helps and if it doesnt post me a sceen capture of the error window.but if it&#39;s a twain driver issue then usually the above corrects the problem.

i downloaded a game (uhh..legaly..of..course) and now have no-fucking-clue how to install it. these are the instructions in the readme file:

1) extract and mount
2) install
3) mount cd1 using d-tools
4) use sd4hider to hide virtual drives (if needed)
5) play


anyone wanna try and make sence of these for me?

i make total sence of it.
ok what are the file types?
are they ISO&#39;s or BIN&#39;s?

basically what it means is the program you&#39;re going to run to burn these &#39;disk images&#39; will create a virtual drive asif the image was actually a cd and then via that program you should be able to copy the disk with the info unloaded by the program into the &#39;virtual drive&#39;

i use alcohol 120 (http://www.alcohol-soft.com/) to mount disk images
which im definate you can find..

Just get DEMON TOOLS It is a free program, and is one of the most used ones. It even says in those intructions you go to use it. He abreviated it.

You downloaded a CD image, i&#39;ll tell you one thing. You have to find a CD mounter to play the game.

I have a toshiba laptop && it never came wit one .. Juss a recovery disk which was made to reinstall EVERYTHING on your computer. Which is wat I dont wanna do .. cuz then ill lose my files.

just take your hard drive out of that machine and hook it up to another computer as a slave hard drive, back up all the shit u wanna keep, then run the recovery disk... When your done running that reinstall everything from your other computer. simple.
