View Full Version : Light Sources

what kind of light sources do you guys use when your bombing at night. seems like carrying around a bright ass LED light or something like that, would make your activities pretty fuckin obvious. Just choose places with residual light hanging around from street lamps n whatnot? seems like in yards it would be pretty fucking dark, and holding a light to the side of a fr8 would make the rail cops see your ass no problem. Being a toy and trying to bomb in total darkness, the complete absence of skill would be easily noticed by anyone in the daytime.
so in closing, do you just choose locations that have low residual light? or what sorta secondary light sources would you bring along?

Maybe you could try getting a pair of night vision goggles? :D

A small headlamp perhaps, but set on red to be less obvious.

The modern warefare goggles have way to much zoom on them for them to be a help. just chill at the spot for 15 minuts and your eyes will adjust.

the come in lots of sizes and brightness for your ninja missions.
tap on, tap off, good shit. just make sure whatever bag you have is not to "transparent" or it might push in and turn on while you dont want it to.
anyway, you guys arnt suposed to be getting up untill you get decent shit down.

youre a moron if you use a light if you paint. light pollution is so bad these days you dont need one.
chrome on a dark wall is so blatently visible even in a dark yard. dont be stupid. and your eyes will adjust

haha I donno guy Ive been in some pretty bad track spots where you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Those little LED key chain lights come in handy. Also the light of your cell phone, but I don't recommend your cell cause it will most likely get back sprayed

You could use your boyscout skills to start a fire to warm your cold, white, momma's boy hands. If you want to be really sneaky and inconspicuous, you can drop your pressurized cans in your fire! Just stand close, or else you might get caught!

Painting at night isent that great if your used to chill day spots but Just plan your painting on nights with no clouds, youll be surprised how crazy the moon is lit up.

the moon works just fine. if not you better learn to eat carrots
haha i thought this was to see shit in your bag. piecing and bombing at night are 2 totally different beast. when bombing you almost dont need to see, you should be able to bust a throw in your sleep. most times a dark color fill and lighter outline works the best. my fav. night banger is black fill white outline, its the best to see and it looks super clean if you get the outline right.
its best to just use whatever light you got thats not your own, cell phones are great light but i dont carry my cell on me if im bombing. too much important shit in there, numbers and text cops would love to get there hands on.
sounds kinda silly but right before you hit a spot just stay still and close your eyes for about a min or 2. let your eyes get used to the dark, dont look at anything bright and you will be amazed at what you can actually see.

Fube is right, I showed up to a bridge a few weeks ago to bomb, I was shocked by how little moon/street light made its way under there, it was PITCH black! I had to use my cell phone to look in my bag to distinguish yellows/whites/pinks/blues ... it was ridiculous, I sat down, closed my eyes, had a smoke (while covering the cherry as to not uck up my slowly rising night vision. After about 3 minutes I was able to open my eyes and was able to read the graffiti on the other end of the bridge. 3 minutes earlier I couldnt even see the pillars that support the bridge 5 feet in front of me. Take your time and use this trick.

if i really need light when i'm bombin, i use my phone, or a lighter. but i just do my shit in the dark and let my eyes adjust. who the fuck would bring an actual light source like a flashlight or somethin. that'd get you booked so quick.

light source? i dont use one, it could probably give you away?

If you need a light source then use a lighter or a zippo quick. But don't get to close or u might set ur piece on fire.
Honestly I have never found a spot that was too dark to bomb. In fact I looks for dark places so I don't get spotted. Unless ur doing a piece with detail u shouldn't need a light unless ur doing fine detail or something.
yeah teh moon is the best light you could have do not brign a fucking light with you to go bombing cuz youl get baged son adn this thread should die
i thought this thread was about 3d light sources in your paintings and drawings.

colord led lamps that clip onto stuff and clip it onto your hat or back pack if you where it when your bombing work great the color makes it less obvius.. but i usually use a big as mag light and if its a sketchy spot throw a couple white socks over the light part to defuse the light and make it softer.. or if you got cash to blow go on a cinematography website like B&H photo/video and get a backround flood light.. make sure it says SOFT and FLOOD not spot lights
