i got busted last feb. had to change my name, which sucks. i'm in ks atm. there are no writers out here, i don't want to travel to kansas city, its about three hours away. plus the cops are on Major shit. i got arrested a week and a half ago for drinking, i wasn't drunk and i was in the car, and they pulled me out n shit. it was fucking gay. sitting in a holding cell for 18 hours is possibly the most boring thing i've ever done in my life. and the food is god awful.

A good aspect of meeting writers is just take your time. I mean it in a sense of dont come up to quick. You gotta make a name for yourself, Whats the point in meeting other writers if you you cant write for jack shit.

Example: A new writer comes out of no-where and goes all out painting alot of hot spots with super toy shit and ruins his name, Do you think big writers are gonna wanna paint with him and meet him? They might wanna meet him but not for the right reasons, so just take your time and put in work they will come to you.

When it comes to being able to play lacrosse in college here, that really depends on what school you attend. Also, what school a player attends determines a lot of what kind of competition he will face. Players who play on NCAA DI, II, and III are almost always recruited to play at that university or college. If a player is not recruited by a team of a certain level, it will most likely be difficult for him to play on that schools team because the team is probably going to be above his skill level. However there are "walk-ons" who go to a school and then simply try-out without being invited to play by the school and make the team. These are generally the guys who went unnoticed by many schools in the recruiting process. Also, many schools in the MCLA recruit players for their program, but not as aggressively. They mostly dont recruit as aggressively because lacrosse players attending the university generally choose the school because of reasons other than lacrosse, and they dont have to worry as much about attracting big name guys. Also, most MCLA schools cannot offer athletic scholarships.

Because there is not much of a career in lacrosse after college, you do get tons of players who have the ability to play at top DI schools who choose to play at "lower tier" programs. For example. There is a DI and a DIII player who both transferred to Chapman who plays in the MCLA. Another player from a good DI school UMass transferred to Wisconsin who also plays in the MCLA. The reason this happens is because many lacrosse players go to school to pursue academics first and lacrosse second. That is why there is a wide range of skill throughout all the divisions. For example, There are teams in DII and III and the MCLA that can hang with and even beat DI teams.

As for what happens for players who cannot make the roster at a school, many colleges do have some sort of club lacrosse. Many of these schools do not cut players from the roster if they also have a NCAA team. However, on the flipside, the MCLA is somewhat of a designated "club" league because these schools do not have an NCAA sanctioned lacrosse program. Many MCLA schools, while they are technically "club," still have cuts for the MCLA team. Also, if a team plays in the MCLA, they are not allowed to have a team in the NCAA. This helps the MCLA maintain a hugely competitive league with great players without having an NCAA sanctioned lacrosse program.

I hope this helps. I know it is all pretty confusing considering there is structure for leagues, but the leagues top and bottom skill level teams begin to get very close in skill with each other at all levels.

hang around at paint shops, when people go to buy paint ask them 'do you write, what do you write' and ask them if they wanna go painting some time. this could also result in getting your ass kicked so i dont suggest it if your alone.

that or look for people that wear lad clothing, lad clothing consists of a stripey t shirt along with above the knee running shorts,and a white cap. usually nautica or polo brand. and they also wear nike tn's.

I had a difficult time finding other writers at first. Now, it's not as hard as it used to be. Here are some tips:

1. Go out. Keep your eyes open where ever you go. Scout for paint on clothes and graff on hats. Most of the writers that I have met, I ran into at the super market or at college.

2. See if there is a graff shop near you. Cool employees might give you information as to where most writers hang out, directions to legal walls, etc. Don't be afraid to ask the appropriate questions.

3. The internet. Writer's pages are usually difficult to find, but finding a common web page of writers in your area might lead you to meet others.

i know a -few- guys in australia that got busted by their schools for bathrooms/local walls from shit they did in school books.

what escape said is pretty much it. tag in black books and paper in your own home is usually the best way to go about it. all the writers back in school would destroy their books with tags and sketches, end of the day you just raise suspicion for yourself.

sometimes its alright though, when i was in highschool our art teacher would let us bomb the blackboard with chalk

on topic though: best way to meet writers is hanging around hot spots and talking to the writers you know in school, and just act cool. a big problem for me when i first started was i tryed too hard to fit in. be yourself and focus on the art of it

I agree entirely, I hate having to throw out a good sketch because some one fucking saw it and I know they'll recognize it. Honestly, don't write if you aren't willing to NOT share with anyone except people you trust (like your crew). I've had to stop showing my friend my sketches because he leaves them out in the open where people can see that shit. Also, try not to take your sketches to school, because you look mighty weird hunched over drawing and having to hide every time someone almost sees.

werd man. knowing how to write arabic is really cool. a very fluid writing style. even the simplest of scriptures you find on stop signs or random objects anywhere around the place have great flow in their typography. that's just how arabic fonts are in origin. to be quite honest, almost ANYONE who's 50 years or older in this country is a calligrapher :)

lol... Where i live i hardly meet anyone good, but i did hear about these dudes who actually diverted a train by messing with the signals. And when the train was stopped while they tried to work out what went wrong 10 dudes ran out of the bushes with ladders and shit and bombed the crap out of it while it was sitting there. From the sounds of it they did it twice to the same train. first to let the toys have a go, then again later for the real writers to get up. Wish I'd met them.

Anyway... I've always drawn in my books and stuff, and I've had heaps of people come up to me and ask me if i write before i ever started and knew what that meant. Both at school and then again at university. This is a good way to meet people. I have an art book and a blackbook, but i draw in my art book in public and people come up to me. I wrote up a toy tag in a toilet at uni once and the next day the cubicle was comprehensively bombed. I used to feel proud that i'd started that cubicle, but now i know how toy it was.

Draw in public places where hiphop sorts of people hang out. For me its skate parks and we've got a hiphop store that sells paints and stuff (even does classes... http://www.daklinic.com). i've never met anyone hanging at spots or run into anyone on solo bombs, but i guess it would work in places with a bigger population than where i am.
