My vote was for ticks.In my opinion, his sketch was the clean and the originality was dope.the first were pretty dope also but I think dayduh forgot the "O", if he used the character for the "O".Well, note to dayduh,"You Should Make That Shit Bigger",other than that your style is tight.I also dig Borg's but idk, I think it should be cleaned up just a little...

@OGSERMALERM What do ya mean by cleaned up a bit? like get rid of all the eraser smudges and clean up the outline etc? I never put much effort into such things sketches are more of a plan on what you are going to paint, not an artwork in theirselves.

Anyway they haven't said anything about trying to bridge the gap like they did for Naruto. I almost think that it's slightly intentional so that they don't lose time when a writer takes a week off. Like how you see some weeks there's no new issue out. But I don't know if that's true. It's just what seems reasonable to me. Also of course they need time to clean up the art, censor anything that might be overboard for American audiences, and translate it.

Yeah clean sketches can add the the illusiuon of quality especially when showing non-writers. But in terms of importance, letters are all i look for and care about in sketches. graphic designers, artists and all that bullshit love doing nice pretty drawings, writers use them as a plan to paint. Ah well each to his own.

I totally understand where you're coming from with this, but don't knock someone because he/she has a clean sketch style. Letters is the base of all graffiti writers out there. It's the fundamental that all writers must learn to be hailed as a true graffiti artist. Whether it's a throw up, piece, or burner. A lot of us started off as artists many grew into that role as they perfected their style and their art. Adding a character or a cool background takes your piece to a whole nother level of being a burner. Sometimes it's a team effort with other artists or crew members. So you're saying there's a difference in being a graffiti writer and being a graffiti artist? Maybe there is? But I'm an old schooler and they are one and the same for me. If you're using a wall as your canvas then you're an artist. To me anytime you put colors on a surface with some sort of style or technique is art. Many graff artists have become skilled graphic designers of present day. Slick produces DissIsSlix clothing. Katch produces Natural Koncept skateboard designs and clothing. Rime, Revok, Dare, Ewok, and Pose have their own shirt designs. So are you dissing these legends because they can draw or design?

If a beginning graff artist has a clean sketch style he/she is already starting off in the right direction in tightening up their art. If you look at the sketches or blackbook entries of graff legends such as Estria, Katch, Dare, Rime, Revok, Ewok, Pose, and Slick. I think you'll find all of their sketches are pretty damn clean and refined and not just a very rough draft.

If that person can transfer his/her clean lines from paper to wall, canvas, or other surface in that same clean manner then more power to that person. But if you don't like it, then hey like you said... to each their own.
