Still learning throwie's. Any crits are much welcomed. Whenever I try and shade it always comes out weird.
@Woulf All of your 3D lines need to be at the same exact angle, it helps to do it with a ruler on paper but dont get used to it, its better to learn it by hand. Basically, like you have 3D at the back of your S, its impossible for there to be 3D on the front of your F. It should be coming off the very very bottom of the F. Well, thats if you want the 3D to be down and to the left of your throwie. But you definitely need work on your throws. Not to be a dick but much, much more work. Keep your letters the same size, graffiti doesn't condone proper grammar lol. Shitty 3D will make the shittiest throw look even shittier. Get better markers. I sound like a toy sayin that shit because who the fuck gives a shit. Markers are markers, paint is paint. But its much easier to use paint markers to practice throws cause all of the color goes over what you want it to, instead of turning black and weird like sharpies or regular markers. The face is okay cause all toys do dumb little faces, but lose the cigarette thing. Thats all I got man, just work on the 3D shit, ill post a pic if you still dont get it
no just drippy ass paint didnt give it enough time to dry before doing the outline. mues- word first time painting since last summer i'll get it down. .
Thanks black. I was reading some post here and there and I seen i'm probably going to have to work on the same angle business. I know i'm going to need a lot of work but I don't mind, I enjoy this so it'll come with practice and time...hopefully. As for the 3d, i'll make sure to keep it more of a shadow. Someone was saying for beginners some markers to start off with is Krylon and Rusto. Any input on that? Isn't a toy more of someone who bites off other peoples styles & such? I guess many others have done the faces at one point or another but there isn't much someone hasn't done already. Could you post a pic just so I could see if that's cool? Much thanks man, I really appreciate it.
I'd like some crits on this please. Namechanged to SKEE. I realise the top left of the S should come out more to the left and I need to make them all the same width at the bottom (K in particular) but apart from that, what are your opinions? Redid it, I think this is better. (Ignore the handstyle, I haven't came up with one yet for new name.
Yeah man all you gotta do is practice and it'll come eventually. And to be completely honest, theres so many people calling someone a toy, no one even knows what it means exactly anymore. To me, a toy is someone who has absolutely no idea what hes doing, and has no knowledge on anything artsy. Or someone who is only doing it to vandalize, or someone who doesn't paint at all and talks about getting up all the time. Basically someone who is either really bad, or sort of bad and doing it for the wrong reasons, (to be cool or to be an asshole and fuck shit up). And I really dont know what kinda markers are good, I worry about the paint. But any paint marker like Deco is good, really. And yeah Ill draw up my shit and ill keep the 3D hollow so you can see the angles n shit Here you go man. Now this is super super sketchy, I rushed cause i got shit to do today. But I guess that kinda shows how you should 3D, just pick an angle and at every corner of the letter, draw a line down at that angle, but allllways keep it the same. When you get to a corner where the "3D" line would go into the letter you just colored, dont draw the line. Thats what makes it look toyish and just incorrect. Think of pointing a single light source at an object, there is only going to be ONE shadow, it is virtually impossible for there to be more than one
Flooding the board I know, dont care. I went to the craaaziest spot ive been to in a while last night. Climbed up a fire escape (that had no floor by the way, only two railings along each side) 8 stories up, onto the top of this old ass building. Easily could've died/gotten seriously hurt. But thats all the fun, isnt it? anyway, heres the shit I threw up, I think it came out pretty good. I had to stand literally two inches away from the wall cause... well its confusing to explain but you get the fuckin picture lol. Anyway here it is Better picture, shows the size much much better.
Other than the shitty can control (no offense) it looks alright, just gotta keep practicing paintin and you'll get it. You should try to find a chill spot so you can take your time and go in the day. Id try to change up the bottom of the N's too, maybe make the bubble smaller and more towards the bottom, or even get rid of it all together. Idk try it out see how you like it
