The drop shadow should be the same shape and size as the letter, just offset. Just draw the bottom of the A again, but offset it down and to the left.

It's a little better but still hurting. Why is there shadow above the upper right leg of the K? And the shadow on the bottom right leg should go below the K. You need to be more consistent to...

Both of those drop shadows are good. They're consistent in the angle and distance that they are offset from the letters and are the exact same size and shape of the letters.

I use a site called imageshack which allows you to pick a size when you upload them. You could also open it in a program like MS Paint and crop it.
