I go to like Lowe's or Home Depot & breka the corner off some like 8 dollar thin board & walk out. Then, wait a few days, go back see the board on clearance for 58 cents, buy it, go home, use my shit spray cans, & practice on that board in my backyard.

I have a wall in my garage that I can put a new piece up anytime I want, I just wish that I didn't have to keep repainting over my own stuff.

paper, bathroom walls, abandon houses..
I practice on a piece of ply wood in my back yard. I only have enough room for one letter though so I practice each letter of my tag and paint the old one over with a big can of paint meant to be used for houses so I don't have to use spray paint. It works well though.

To practice tags just go to your local wawa or 7-11 and go in the bathroom and tag it up. For painting try and figure out if there's any abandoned buildings in your area, just watch out for crack heads and homeless people that would get pissed off. If your in a rural area, try an find like an abandoned barn or mill or something.
