Markers in accessible pocket of backpack that I can reach without taking my backpack off or it being awkward ( just dropped a few drippy ones on the way home). Then paint in a shelf stand thing in my room with a slide down semi-transparent cover. parents stopped questioning it.
im so happy im an art student... all my friends have problems hiding their shit. my parents dont care, i mean i think my dad has a bigger stash of cans than i do o_o.....
if you really are worried, keep ur not so thick markers between ur matress, and ur caps too if u like but keep it in a ziplock bag so you dont lose them. ur big markers or cans.. well watever u do dont hide it where ur parents will think they will find drugs. like underwear and sock drawers are like a negative.
im a girl so all my stuff i shouldnt have, (like condoms, etc) i keep it in a box thats see thru.. but the edges of the box are covered and in the middle is all my awesomeness. at least if ur parents see the box, they wont feel like that have to look in it, because the illusion of 'normal' objects is what they see. like dont cover it on the outside because it will look forbiden. put letters pushed up on the walls of the box, or stickers, watever.
keep your room clean. ur parents might be mad at you one day and clean out ur room. or they are just sweet and clean ur room. if ur room is clean they wont have a reason to be in your room

i keep my shit in my closet. it kind of sucks living in a dorm, because you get no privacy. i had some pen ink in an old soda bottle chillin on the shelf in my closet and my roomate kept askin what it was, and why i needed it. since his girl basically lives in our room, i have almost no time to mix shit.
I don't hide it...I use most of my stuff all the time be for graff or otherwise..So it's all fine.

I keep my black book and pens in a messenger bag that i put under my bed.. with my cans mask and gloves...my dad gots no idea that i tag.. all he knows is i spray posterboards for art in my room but thats it (well thats wat he thinks)

I don't hide my stuff, I just store it in the TV stand in my room. Makes more sense to keep it in an inconspicuous location. If you parents asked you then, you could just say "i dunno, they're left over from a project." but if they find it and it was in a hidden area and ask you why you were hiding it. there's not much you can say...=\
