lets get started, stencil caps are for small details like eye lashes on charcter and other things like that. they do use up a fair bit of paint, and are not for handstyles, throw ups or anything like that. here's what you will need to make one: The cap off a spray can (plastic cap on top that indicates color) Exacto knife Lighter Pin 1. Take the cap and cut away the outer ring (you should be left with a small tube thats coverd on one end). 2. Mark were the paint sprays out on the tube. 3. Use the lighter to heat up the pin and make a small hole were you put the mark(bigger hole, less fine line, not as good quality, smaller hole, finer line, better quality). make sure to not make the hole to small or to big, it shoudl idealy be around 2-3 mm across. 4. Cut off part of the coverd end of the tube so you can put your finger in to push down the cap. the tube should fit snugly around the ring of the top of the can. this works best with a ny thin cap or a german outline/german outline2. there you go! a stencil cap, make sure to dump out the paint from inside the cap when it starts to build up.
haha thats sweet im gonna go try that you could probably also drill out the tip of the cap that the paint comes from and stick a tube in there that goes to the cap(indicator thing with hole in it) so it uses less paint but hey you got a good idea there
sounds intresting... how wide does it spray? cuz like with germ outlines u can already get like 3/4 fingers
it's a good idea to put a very wide rubberband around the base of the modified top. this keeps the paint from getting all over your hands if the top doesn't seal properly.
Has anyone ever tried the WD-40 tip with thew little red tube? I haven't but it was just a thought...
who cares it saves space with ount opening another topic and it dont wreck the info above so no worries. shooter caps: take a stock krylon cap or what ever and pull out the lil white thing on the inside and there u go a shooter cap, have fun.
i tried this and got paint everywhere except through the hole. How do you know where exactly to poke the hole through? Just guess?
did you try pointing the cap at the hole??? idealy it should be the same hight as were the paint sprays out when you push the cap down.
no shit, but when you spray it, it goes all over the cap, so you can't tell where it centers, so if it's even slightly off, it totally fucks up.
put the cap on a can, and hold the stencil cap in front, and mark were the paitn sprays from, then move the mark down how ever much of the stem of the cap is showing. there's were you make your hole

in my town we use the cap from a 40oz with a tiny hole poked in the side, stuck on top of a regular cap, instead, of the plastic top on cans. its kinda messy tho, but smaller, i find it is a bit easier than using the other method, tip: wear rubber kitchen gloves, if you dont want paint, all over your hands, cotton gloves usually soak thru with paint, specially when using the 40oz method
