ya Taki is like a retired jersy you just dont touch that shit, i want to know who is doing the tags, i guess its cool if he has the right intent and doesn't make it his actual name.

someone should go make a history thread somewhere so the toys can read up and at least sound like they know whats up.

if you all werent being such jerks you would have relaized what this thread is about

someone else is writing taki 183 as a tribute

what do you think about that?

truthfully i think its insulting that someone is misrepresenting history
imagine finding one of taki's old school tag and then finidng out its just a lame ass wanna be

There's some people where it's cool if it's a tribute. Like a zephyr tribute or a dondi tribute I wouldn't care about, but you dont fuck with Taki 183. That shit's just untouchable.

Number streets, such as 183rd street run east/west through manhatten and most of harlem and the bronx. Avenues, numbers 1-12 plus some specific named ones like broadway run north/south.

so then no-ones really writing taki 183? WTF.
SOoo this is like a theoretical discussion?

I dont think anyone would wanna waste their time writing taki 183. hes already famous, so i dont see the point.
Like maybe if it was a throw or sumthin and it was like
Respect to, or never forget, or some shit like that ya know?
But not just writing taki 183 everywhere,
    thatd be tacky.

    sika dont be sily.

i think its wrong for someone else to write taki 183, its not 'cool' its like someone trying to write their name as some famous star and tryin to pass it over.
    its just not right.
stupid fraud who cant think of a name for themselves, think its gonna be a good idea to write taki...
...unless they are tryin to remind people of the history of graff.
and as it sems many people on here dont even know who taki is.

    shameful. <_<

    read it and learn kids

TAKI 183 started writing in 1969 in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He was first inspired by an earlier writer, JULIO 204 who tagged on the streets were he lived. TAKI 183 took to the idea of placing the street number where he lived at the end of his tag from JULIO 204. JULIO 204 could not write outside his neighborhood, due to him being in a gang. TAKI 183 was one of the first to take his name All-City hitting every thing in site; mailboxes, hallways, train stations, buses, inside and outside of subway cars. He took on few partners like GREG 69 & 70 and GERMEN, but would also go on his own being that he was a messenger.

yo this guy started writtin when your dad was born!
    this is graffiti history 101
    learn it
i had the chance to meet Stay High 149 when he came to Montreal last summer, very nice and intelligent guy
