hey, i don't do graffiti but i hope you guys can help me anyways. i want to buy some fluorescent yellow cans, so it should glow in the dark. i will use them to paint a bicycle (steel). the shop i want to buy them from carries: Montana Gold - Fluor 1000 Flash Yellow MTN Alien - Fluorescent Amarillo am i right that they both glow in the dark? which glows better? any experiences? i want it to come out like that: http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h165/_idnA_/878b227a.jpg another question: how do i get the surface smooth? with some special caps perhaps? i hope you can help me with those kinda strange questions, thanks in advance andi
Stick to the Alien Art cans. As for caps, just use the cap that comes with it. You shouldn't have any issues with it if you just paint the pieces like you would anything else. Tip: For the paint to stick to the steel, use some fine sandpaper to roughen up the metallic surface. The paint will hold better, and the finish will still be smooth enough. Hope this helps.
i dunno bout the paint. as for the cap. use whatever u have.. ps: make shure 2 post flick when ur done
go to an auto store like Autozone or some shit. then first buy some primer... sand down the bike.. prime the metal, Then paint the bike i'd use montana Hardcore paint if i was you
dont they actually have a glow in the dark spray paint? that shit would be crazy for tagin too i got a crazy idea one time when i was high to paint my whole room with glow in the dark paint that shit would be insane
there is an alien glow in the dark one , i cant remember the name right now but i know there is one the shoip i go to had it
if you use white primer, you can use any brand of flourescent over it and it will look really bright in one coat, because the white sets it off and opacity isnt an issue then. its not going to actually glow in the dark though, but it will reflect more light and draw more attention in low light situations.
those paints are just bright floursent colors not glow in the dark there is a glow in the dark and since you are using a light color (yellow) ist best you sand and prime first
i hope you know that those odyssey parts don't glow in the dark, my local shop had the rims for a wile and they look so fresh. fluorescent yellow montana hardcore is a pretty close match to those, if you can get a hold of that, make sure you prime the parts with a white primer instead of Grey to make sure the color comes out its best! use a nice sized fat cap so as you can put each coat on nice and even, but i assume you already know how to paint a bike properly
WHITE PRIMER WHITE PRIMER WHITE PRIMER FIRST off sand your bike down with medium sandpaper, then apply some antirust primer white or a very pale color like beige but white would be the best for this color. one you applyed the first THIN coat of primer let it dry then apply a second one... let it dry then a third one, then you let it dry again... let it dry for a long time so it gets real hard. Sand down the primer with fine sandpaper then apply 2-3 coats of fluo color and its gonna make people flinch when they see it... it's ALL about preparation And what you show on the picture is fluo, not glowing in the dark... i think something that would be dope is 2-3 coats of fluo paint and a final one of glow in the dark paint  so it looks like it glows day in day out
yo you should also gloss it up with lik those krylon clear cans just to make it more vibrant if you want to rele stand out
The hardcore fluro yello is thinner than piss...and has less pigment to..Im utterly disgusted by it. [/b][/quote] I'm glad I'm not the only one who found it to be that way. In general, I prefer MTN Hardcore...but if you're going for colours and not company ethics, Alien is the best bet on this matter.
