All I can recommend is that you go back to simples.

stocks arnt even bad. i remeber having stocks for the longest.. and i still use them.. form time to time
Stock are totally useable on simple fill letter piecing if you have actual can control.

I believe the guys in "3A" although hes painted with CD and almost every other goodwriter out there.
