Yes, you can have it pluged into the wall AND have it hooked up to the machine.

look at the back of the unit, it has a dc jack for just straight power.
usb connectivity.
and midi in and outs.

someone buy the fucker before i waste it away in a pawn shop. i dont want to do that because they are just going to charge about retail for it. i want someone to get some use out of it, but i still need about a hundie for it, or a really decent trade.
