any do's and don't's for first timers?
That E was completely deco's, the A I used cheap waterbased paints for a background then decos, and the record was a spray background with decos.
For larger canvases I usually spray paint the background, then use decos for the rest. For smaller canvases I just use extra-fine/fine point decos.

are there any specific spray cans i need to get for the base of the cavas? or anything works?

dont use landscaper's paint it will grit up
one in progress for my mates bandgot to sort the grey out on the letter its doing my head in!!
