First of all, my mistake for bringing back that old thread on wheat pasting.... It's just what google sent me to. My apology.
But anyways, I'm new to wheatpasting (not to the art), and am starting up my "business" out here in Cincinnati. I'm just wondering if we can use just any type of paper. I bought "Academie heavyweight paper" which is Acid-free and Lignin-free. Would this work?
Also, I'm curious if there is any type of restriction to the medium I'm using. Would sharpies bleed in rain if I don't put a protective coating over the front?
If someone could give me a list of what I am limited to when it comes to wheat pasting, then I would be forever thankful (can't say so much for the locals around here.)
Thanks!

damn!
You kids are on it.
Thanks for the info on the first page. I should have checked there after I made my first mistake.
Bless.
Im wanting to make a few more massive posters and hand paint them (with a brush) Ive used markers in the past and they smudge when I brush the paste over. Should I be using any type of special paint or will I be able to make it smudge free using any old paint like they have in skool art class or whatever?
jase-simple yet nice tho im that design looks familiar, .clipart?
foi oi oi- heavyweight paper insnt usually preffered, the thinner the paper the longer itll stay.
ctrl c-acrylic paints worked for me but that was under a bridge so ididnt have to deal with rain.
it would prob eventually wash of a lil coz acrylic is water based.

my tip is to use a hienz ketchup large squeezy bottle (or a regional variation!) full of wallpaper paste for when you go out. easily applied to a wall without having to carry around a bag full of suspicious fluid! plus the rubber opening seals itself and has another lid, no so leaks.

Acrylic paint is only water soluble until it dries. After the plastic polymer dries it is water proof. So wheatpaste shouldn't smudge the dried acrylic.
jase-nice spots.
droid i use pump water bottles, similar thing but i have some ketchup and its almost empty.

would putting some wheatpaste into a kiwi mop work, not for bigger projects but like 8.5 by 11's on mail boxes and such, it would have to be a bit thin i guess but has anyone ever tried it?
Thanks Rup'e
I don't think using it in a kiwi mop would work cause you really need to saturate the paper and my experience with kiwi mops is that it isn't very thick.
I've used the OTR 1.1inch mop with no flow regulator and that shit drips!! you could give it a try but thats $12 out of your pocket.
Fuck man! i never thought of the heinz ketchup! thats a great idea and it hells spurts out!
I used the wetones idea i didn't like it, i got more on me then on the wall haha.
Or was i mean't to just clean up with wetones? LOL!
haha my mistake lol!
haha oh well it worked. Hands aye? i might try that with heinz bottle thingo.
