So I found some tempera paint mixed it with some stuff an got a pretty nice color out of it an it flows alright just got to get a lil more ingredient to thin it so it aint streaky but it's nice an bright anyone else tried using it before? I havn't been back to my tags due to work an what not but I will soon I just hope it doesn't chip or peel.

dude tempera paint will suck for graffiti paint. it will come off with just water more than likely. it's made for little kids to paint with because they are a little more messy & probably will spill. it's just temporary. they have it because acrylics stain clothes. trust me, the colors might be really good but unless you're looking to get buffed with no hassle then don't use the tempera paint

ok if people are willing to spend some money then I know how to make pigmented ink from scratch.

buy some dry pigments, linseed oil, japan dryer, & paint thinner.

step 1: pour the dry pigments out onto your surface (glass works best) & make it like a bowl with the hole in the middle or whatever. you get what i'm saying I hope.
step 2: fill the hole with linseed oil & take your pallet knife or whatever you got to stir. Then just stir it up until you got it all mixed together. if you're not comfortable with that then add more oil but you don't want to much oil or it won't be as opaque & it will be shitty.
step 3: put your paint in a bucket & reapeat steps 1 & 2 until you have as much paint as you want. then add paint thinner to it until it's nice & thin.
step 4: add your japan dryer to it then just stir it up. the higher quality pigments that you use the better staining & everything it will be.
i'm not gonna give exact proportions that I use because i'd be giving out my good recipe then. this does cost quite a bit of money & took me a hell of a long time to save up for but it's worth it in the end

xylene is just a different form of paint thinner I think. another thing is my recipe I gave is actually paint not ink. o & xylene causes cancer

Pretty sure xylene is a diffirent solvent altogether. I'm not a chemist or anything though so idk. And Im not too concerned about the slim to none possibility I'll get cancer from xylene

yea that's true. i've been using uni's which have a huge xylene smell & xylene content. also i've been using decos & shit so I think it's fine

Xylene has been found to lead to cancer. but so has everything else.. i wouldnt suggest using it to paint on people. And yes it is different then your average paint thinner. If you thing about it it has to be a smoother flowing thinner ink/paint to flow through the type of nib that a valve action pump marker uses. Especially when metal flake or pigment
is added

Those of you interesting in pigments, this is some expensive knowledge he just dropped, Much easier than using shellac and other chemical components. Using a semi expensive drawing charcoal in the blackest you can find ground to a fine dust with a mortar & pestle works well for inks as well once you get the hang of it, but it still has to be suspended.

Normal paint thinner will not thin synthetic enamels and blend with other chemical solvents or adhesives. Xylene Does.

I also Dabbled with N-Heptane, Basicly rubber cement thinner. Serious stuff, evaporates almost instantly and because of this if you mix it into a metallic ink with xylene it does really trippy stuff lol. the metal will never settle and continuously keep itself rolling and flowing even if just sittin in a cup for several hours till the heptane evaps, fun to experiment with but i didnt find alot of good in it for ink making.

yea it's super expensive but if you're thinking about starting a buisness this would be worth it. my friend who owns illadel taught me how to do it

grog seems to be my favorite. it's hard to buff (i have done buff test and seen my tags try to be buffed) and bleeds through really well. it also is very controable and able to go from no drips to lots of drips depending on what kind of marker your using. i used to use illadel or whatever its called with the bleed through additives and that worked amazing but my local graf store stopped carrying that so i just go with grog now. they have this sick magenta color which shows really well and will let you right over most tags

just picked up a masterpiece maker marker, the coversall one. the marker is a little disappointing cuz the nib falls out every damn time i take the cap off and it covers me in ink, but man is it some glorious ink. i tried tagging over some with some light blue paint marker and it not only ruined the tag with black streaks but it damn near ruined the nib of the paint marker! if youre lookin for some bitumen ink, its a good one. im about to get some illadel black label, and im debating between illadel colorz and smash ink, so far im leaning towards the illadel, anyone used both and have an opinion on em?

i've used colorz & let me tell you, it is absolutely amazing. i've never used smash but I do know it's xylene based so it'll mess your nibs up. illadel won't fade for like 4 years either. bl2 won't fade & it won't be buffed
