they ROCK for writing on wood! ye ive seen people do throws on a drained swimming pool. as i watched them paint i thought about doing a streak at the bottom of a pool. its funny that other people thought of it.

lumber crayons are a waste of time, really. sure, they mark well on rough surfaces and are water resistant, but the same cam be said for sakuras

melt crayons in a tin can over low heat. soften with brake fluid, petroleum jelly, cooking oil, whatever. pour into empty chapstick or glue stick. soft crayons. good for cheap.

bump on that, A lumber crayon is a wax base with pigment in it, its a bitch to buff off of textures like brick and cement, but if its too rough it doesn't look very good. Markall paint sticks are way better 4sure....
a lumber pencil (someone on this thread had them confused) is just that a pencil and worthless unless you are woodworking.

i got a lumber crayon and its dope on rust especialy and rough surfaces.
but its garbage on any thing else.. but i like them cause there very cheap and come in good colors...
the closest thing I used to a lumber crayon was a markal paintstik shit was pretty dope works well for me cents the city stop light poles are dark green

we have lumber crayons at work, they're good for marking defects on rough lumber, but they don't write for shit.. i've tried :P
Got these at my local art store. Shiva oil paint sticks. After they dry they are hard to buff. Takes a while to dry since it is initially oil paint.
