Official Sketch Battle v1.8

Welcome to the 8th official Bombing Science sketch battle. This battle will be judged by the legendary graffiti artist from Australia: Atome (IBS, TFP). You can read an interview with him on Art Crimes. This battle is sponsored again by the fine folks at Tribal, so you can expect a lot of great prizes!

Here's the breakdown of the prizes:

1st Place:
- $100 of Tribal Clothing
- $50 Bombing Science gift certificate
- 5 Montana Hardcore cans

2nd Place:
- $60 of Tribal Clothing
- $25 Bombing Science gift certificate

3rd Place:
- $40 of Tribal Clothing


And now, the rules of the battle:

- Deadline: June 2nd 2008
- Word to sketch: CASIO
- Colors: Any colors
- Medium: Pencils, Pen, Markers
- Backgrounds and characters are accepted, but not necessary.

Sketches will be judged on lettering structure, colors and cleanliness.

The judge of this battle will announce the winners a few days after the deadline. All the sketches that will be submitted to us will also be posted online.

1st Place: Oitfive

Comments: Love the funk of this sketch. Simply and effective colors. Can be a little bit cleaner, but the letter structure makes this one the clear winner.

2nd Place: Sort

Comments: This one is really strong by its use of colors and the sketch is mad clean. Love the letters too, really different. Not a classic NYC style... it would look dope on a wall.

3rd Place: Mistix

Comments: Clean, good colors. The letters are tight, but I don't really like the C. Simple but well done background.

madden it got theyr because its better than yours the judge liked it n many people do it has good structure n is one of the best entrys ive seen compared to jasimen and others

Man thats actually a pretty good winner. I wish it wasn't done with coloured pencils though...
If the results were switched so that Sort won and the winner was second, it would have been the exact result I'd pick.

The HEADS that made place had really nice styles and neatness. Also I noticed they TOSSED up the judge? Is it politics or WHAT? I think DMISE, DIZMAL,
SAMER, SEIZE, SOULPOWER, where TIGHT as hell. TALK about LETTER structure.
OITFIVE MUCH PROPS! Those letters aren't all that thou, the colors are TIGHT.
Props to the WINNERS. I'm a KEEP at it! Peace to the HEADS that put in a sketch for the BATTLE. The heads I mentioned didn't throw up the JUDGE?
Hmm... I wonder does that have any MATTER involved?
