trying to do an arabic piece but not sure if it still reads correctly

yes it does, although you messed up on the S... you should'nt have made it look as if it was 2 separated objects. get rid of the separation thingy so that the letter looks like one whole letter. the way it is now, it looks like 2 separate letters which a regular arabic reader would see as ADLPEK.
but I gotta give you huge props on that... you're getting it down pretty fast

Cwks- Love the character and the letters in the first one, work on your letter structure in the second one though
