Negative space is the space that isnt tooken up by your actual letters. like spaces in between your letters, or the inside parts/holes of letters like on A's and R's and O's and D's and others, make sense? So on your S the bottom part has negative space in the middle, but the top doesnt

i fucked up the outline on the steazy L and O I sketched, and because of it that L and that O are what came out of it. I aint place my letter on a line, does it really make a difference if theyre all in equal height? ......maybe if its a straight letter... idk, part of developing style means breaking away from fitting your letters in a box and making them all the same size...

im with you on that L and O being off. mainly the verticle bar on the L.

could have easily fixed it to not look like MUSC.. i was lazy.

and budz that MUSC simp has decent coloring but u spelled bass wrong too lol unless of course u mean SMOKE a bump of FREEbase... ?

reach- i think multicolor fills look way better when the colors blend or flow into each other, like drips or bubbles, shit like that lol... the letters arent bad but the way each color just stops and a new one starts kinda kills the style

Started wanting to draw graffiti about 2 years ago. Started trying stuff out but got bored then stopped. Now I wanna learn again, and here's one of the first pieces I did. I know it's shit, someone doing graffiti for a long time now told me, so I'd appreciate crits telling me WHY it's shit and what I can do to improve and stuff. Thanks!

and dude work on the last letter alot needs alot of work A isnt all that bad try something simpler like music or mine for example

EnV-start doing simples,copy the letters from your keyboard,you know,block letters,I like the vader char though ^^
Dave the pirate-dope letters but a pretty bad background
ribcage-that's a dope S but the rest of the letters need some work and on the other sketch the C doesn't flow so well with the rest of the letters
striggy-go simpler and lose the arrows
dankbudz-try not overlapping the letters,the U is squished between M and S

a few sketches,I'm having a lot of trouble making my letters flow

hope I can get some crits on these

giving crits4crits of course

Yeah man i dig what ur sayin, and almost completely agree, but my mind was set on pinks and greens, and if I would of tried to blend them with no blender pen it would have created a super dark practically black green color that wouldnt have looked good ya digg? so thas why there was no blend...

@soar you ever try anything different? lol no hate just the last couple peice sketches look the same except for different minor extensions...and i still no like the A on jur throw, if that dot wasnt there itd look like sonr

lol S's can be difficult i guess...... instead of changing the bottom change the top, all your other 1's have that top, make the top half look like the bottom half and go from there.... or at least thats what id do... also your E's vertical bar starts to drift to the left half way through same wit da D
