Pre-1980's punk WAS slower. its a fact. theres nothing to debate there champ. compare 80's boston and DC bands to ramones, clash, buzzcocks, sex pistols, stiff little fingers...the list goes on. exactly. Thats the difference between hardcore and punk rock. Hardcore is faster...and well...more hardcore than punk is. Thats why I like it more. 80's hardcore really had nothing even to do with punk rock. Expecially the straight edge scene. Honestly...listen to Ramones or Buzzcocks and then compare them to SSD or Negative Approach. Totally different style of music. pre-80's punk rock wasnt fast...

hardy har har, ive been listening to punk rock for seven years. I started listening to Ramones and Buzzcocks in sixth grade. I know all about that. I listened to that way before any 80&#39;s hardcore. You still havn&#39;t convinced me that you have any clue what you are talking about.

era doesnt have anything to do with what the music sounds like

you could be listening to stuff you swore was from like 1985 but find out it was recorded in the 90&#39;s

you could be listening to stuff you think was recorded in the mid 80&#39;s but find out it was recorded in 1978

there&#39;s plenty of stuff where you cant gauge it&#39;s time by sound

whatever we shouldnt be arguing about shit like this

maybe theres something here you&#39;d like to trade for something
