The winners! Pose picked the winners of this battle... 1st Place:GRIEK Comment: This is one sketch I just continued coming back to- i think because of the thick clean graphic look, with a nice varying line weight it has. That, and the fact that the letters have a nice legible funk to them. As far as constructive criticism goes, I would say to me the first 2 letters are your strongest and most dynamic. If this was something you were going to paint i would re- work the "s" and the "m". Maybe give the "s" a different bottom half to keep it from looking to similar to the top, or even weight the top heavier, as well as tweaking the "m" a little to get a punchier end point. 2nd Place:SORIE 420 Comment: I like the simplicity and pop of the letter structure, as well as the diamond shape the letters create as a whole, and the simple accent extensions and bits. The one thing I would say would be to possibly tone down what's going on outside of the letters, and in the 3d, so as not to take away from the letters. Subtle background clouds, chips or boarders would accent a piece like this well. 3rd Place:IN CAN DESCENT Comment: I think letters and general flow are pretty solid and look good. It would be cool to see a verticle bar to the left of your "D"instead of one that kicks into the right- it might give it a good "jumping off point" that would be a juxtapozition with the rest of the flow... Basically something to make the "D" stronger, or even more visually dominant. i like all of them but i think sorie's piece is the best i like the color but thats just me, anyway, congrats to all the winners

Respect!!! GOOD ENTRIES IN THIS CONTEST!!! congrats to tha winners...cant wait for tha next contest....!
the one i submitted didn't show up in the master list... i followed directions and all, idk what happened. the entry was pretty fuckin toy compared to most of this stuff, but it says all and theres a few here that look like they got started and finished at like 11:59 on monday night.
Let's remember folks this isn't a battle about who got the best sketching ability. Since the battle i can't even remember all the entry finals have been picked by either the bombing science staff or a newer idea, a cool writer. So it's a who-can-appeal-the-most-to-the-writer-judging, battle. Remember it's not about the best sketches, you wont win like that. Your best bet is to do some history on the judge and go with what he wants you to go. It's wack yes but the same goes even in bboy battles. All judges are biased of course. SkapeOne Goddamnit..
