I don't know where you are but in NSW now cans are either by law locked up or behind the counter...

Exports are real nice for fills if you combine them with some better (belton, ironlak, dulux etc) cans for smaller effects and save the exports for the bulk of the fill.

...and if you find a place where its still easy to steal them then good on ya.

    Some colours i like from export are;
    silver and chrome
    the baby pink
    plum
    sky blue
    creation blue
    matt black

You can use the fan tip for great fast fill ins and if you're really stingy you can do the paper trick with exports and use them as outlines...
You get a piece of paper...fold it over so its about the size of a stamp and a few layers thick. Cut a hole wide enough for the export "dick" and slip it over and put the cap back on...
The layer of paper makes it hard to press the cap completely down so you can get some pretty thin lines if you practice. I don't think its worth doing anymore (and haven't done it for ages) seeing as you can get a ironlak or crunch for 5 bucks but you can try it like i said, if you're mad stingy.

Yellow and white tend to be pretty watery.

Most paint in australia seems to be pretty expensive,
dulux (at bunnings) seems to be like 12...
fiddly bits (which is on par if not worse than export) seems to go for up to 9 bucks at bunnings...
plasticotes and other brands are up there too,
duplicolours (the car paint at supercheap) is generally pretty good but pricey and non female

Basically what i've noticed is there generally isn't a good quality paint with a female valve system that goes for a cheap price...
besides....even if there was chances are if you're in NSW (and not living out in wingwangnowhere) they'd have it locked up....

I haven't seen krylon or rusto for sale here and the only time i've used it was some stock of old cans from about 10 years ago. It used to be stocked here from what i have heard but i don't see it at all...

If you want to paint cheaply my suggestion is this, export fills and ironlak or crunch/aeroskills for effects/outline.

If you can still rack exports good, if not they're only 3 to 3.50 a tin plus a graffiti brand paint for outline and effects are 5-6 bucks (4.50 i've seen ironlak on special)....So if you buy it all you're looking at maybe 15-20 for a few pieces depending how exconomical you are...

If you still know a place to rack take advantage and don't heat it out...
or if you're in some state where the lockup/behind counter laws aren't policy yet....take advantage while you can!!

Really the new laws for locking up tins are sad cause not only does it make painting an expensive thing to do, you no longer get good stories of how people would go store to store get 50-60 cans like it was nothing. It basically leaves your only options for stealing paint being actually breaking in to a store (which is an overkill if you ask me) or rolling people for their paint. Haha just waiting for the day i read in the paper about armed holdups for spraypaint...

They made spray paint practically illegal in aus now. Fuck they made permanent markers illegal -_-

price wise, exports are similar to laks here... and aeroskills/crunch are maybe 50c-$1 more expensive than exports. but if u can rack them good on ya, i know some places like hot dollar dont cage cans up (they just put them on high shelves lol)

try bunnings out, they have whole shelves of paint, they only put a shitty small digit lock on it, u cud wait till someone else wants to get it open then look at what number the assistant puts in or you cud just cut it open.....

tassy, i remember goin to there loose change records shop.. haha

I drew a diagram to better explain that paper trick seeing as i doubt anybody actually even does it anymore so I don't mind sharing it... it does work well after you get used to it...

    [Broken External Image]:http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/8452/deletem.jpg

Once its on there it restricts you to pretty much half pressure seeing as its hard to push the nib down far...
I used to do this when i would paint only with exports but haven't done it it years
I think you can buy female caps from graff stores now that would fit export but i dont know how well they'd work.

As for racking...like the dude above me...bunnings...
Seriously, if they dont lock up paint in TAS then bunnings is a goldmine....
Usually they have garden sections which are outdoors with large fences around them.
Most have loading gates in these fences which have a considerable gap underneath them which you can roll tins under.
Fill up a basket and go roll them out to your buddy on the other side. Its good cause if you go at the right time the garden is pretty quiet with minimum staff and no cameras.

Cap's for exports. That aren't the stocks obviously.
    I'll start.

WD 40. Already mentioned. One of my favourites, never clogs and always consistent. Hard edge, slightly bigger than a grey dot.

Mr Sheen. Fine line, soft edges. Bout the size of a gold dot, maybe a little bigger.

Degreaser Yellow dot. Meh..... Shitty Personally don't lik 'em. Inconsistent line with splattery edges.

Post up Aussies! If anyone knows a decent fat cap, that'd be rad.

you could just go to bunnings and go to the ile behind the caged paint, and only the front of the ile is caged but if you go around the back in the ile you cant pull them off the shelf from the back and they wont even notice if any paint is missing, and if they bag check at the door go to the gardening area and use there exit as they hardly bag check.

Hah, never thought of trying WD-40 caps but will definately give them a go as I can't be bothered always scavenging for caps for the lack of a paint store around here.

But yeah, my mates love export for flares but I have the same problem as OP with not being to get them to come out thick enough. Fiddly bits is pretty much the same as export to me.
If you come across 'Kolour' the tins that Ironlak make they're heaps good and cheap too but have rather few colours.

A mate of mine always racks Dulux from bunnings, just get a big bag that has double layered material and cut a slit in one so it makes a 'secret pocket' for your shit (very good for when you get pulled up by the 5-0 as well)
and depending on the size of the bag it should atleast fit 2 tins. Just ask the guys to open the cage for you and they'll walk off, grab a couple tins and if your paranoid enough buy like 1 tin so you don't seem too red hot.

Alternatively, just climb to the top of the cage and reach over and grab some or like someone said here you can grab them from the back of shelves. Either way i love my Ironlak :)

Sorry to be such a newbie! Where the hell are you getting Ironlak for $4? I'm in Melbourne where the whole street art/graffiti style seems to be exploding, but don't know where to get good paint cheap. Any heads up? Cheers

Lad, exports are mint, twist the red bit on the cap to a slant so its calligraphy. I had a silver 5 star, was the fattest chrome i've ever used, didn't 'piss' paint negatively.
go to bunnings and rack plastie coats.

racking the paint from behind the shelves is a sick idea!!! i get exports for $3.95 at my local and i really only use the chrome and black. but after seeing some of those export pieces i might try an entire export piece just for shits and giggles

on the topic of caps for export: the yellow sekt cap adapters fit on export and work sick with an NY fat, Cyclone Fat or Vegan skinny.

OzGraff has few female caps that you can purchase too if you want to. http://ozgraff.com/category.php?id_category=14
