a flare is when it quickly goes from a narrow line to a fat line or vice versa. its usually done with spray paint with a flick of the wrist changing the angle of the spray, or by quickly moving the can away from or to the wall while moving it. it can also be done with a chisel tipped marker.

i just take any marker with a fat tip and write w/e name a million times in
old magizines b 4 i throw them away. it helps with handstyles and design.
try your name wide and fat. or tall and skinny, etc. .like i said write that shit a million times. you'll get something eventually. and it does'nt really mean shit to bite if your just sketching. that's how i learned how to flow a decent handie.

For handstyles use pilot marker or otr, making a handstyle is easy....

Ey sometimes use a mechanical pencil in school or whatever just like everyone said mess around with different thickness and try to add your own style like stars or whatever the fuck your gonna put up and then just make sure that your sketches aren't seen by your teachers an shit yadidimean>

I use a Sharpie professional to throw up handies. It's got a tuff chisel nib that can write on anything.

For my handstyles I just go on impulse and let it flow but i agree you just gotta practice get a note book and draw it over and over all over the page ....

Hey I have been like tracing my Handstyle over and over. I think it is helping. Once I get more comfortable I will start free handing it.(just so no one is confused I am tracing my own work)
