the same could be said for the punk scene, they both sort of evolved at the same time, even though hip-hop gave graff its biggest boost

also when your doing a sketch keep the letters in exactly the same style, thatsd what i used to do wrong and it looks fucking digusting

dont paint in straight letters ie same as you write on paper. Think of the "style" used when someone writes "toy" like that. no still just paint on a wall...
Atleast try a style, even if you suck your trying.

dont paint "open" areas, if your a toy stick to out of the way unseen places (alleys, under bridges etc)

to me graffiti is one of those things where people cant really tell you what to do... because its not like anyone has special permission.... i get what you mean but like im not going to only sketch and not paint... or only paint chill spots. sometimes i love that good sketchy feeling deep down when im painting in a bait spot.

I do listen to a certain degree of Hip hop but not enough to know all of them from the time I was concieved. I had to google it.

Consider this.... You say you only care about graff. BUT HOW MUCH do you care about graff? Cuzz the four elemants are so vital to eachother as a culture and history. If you love one element, you should love the elements, culture and history, not just it's after effects. I'm not saying you have to know the history of the scratch or how to uprock (although I do), but don't be negative about the other 3 elements baby! They made graff what it is today. I practice non traditional forms of graffiti, and I still have a very healthy respect and appreciation for traditional graff and the 4 elements. I own turntables, and I can teach you how to pop and lock. I don't MC, but I make an effort to search out the good MC's that remain from the spoils that "rap" produces....


In conclusion, you don't have to love or live the elements, but you better respect 'em. :wub:

Its okay. I own turntables too. And a decent mixer, and headphones.

But that doesnt mean that I dont care about the other 3 elements. I like oldskool alot and I own deathrow records shirts and Tupac tour shirts from when I was really little. I had two of them.

I care about them just not as much as I adore and admire some really good writers and artists. ICHabod (Trains) and Seen are two I really like. I love art in general. So I guess thats why? (Ich is a great simple tick toc guy. And tons of skulls.)

I didnt say I didnt respect them cause I do.

Definitly into rap though before painting. So I understand. You always have to shoot me down mang. <_<
