if your going to split hairs, yes photoshop and using an xacto knife takes talent, talent that both a robot and a well trained monkey can do. banksy has imagination, talent? i don't know, ive never seen him do anything i would consider artistic.
Is having an imagination not a talent? And, ok, maybe talent is the wrong word for this argument, but you can't deny the skill and ability a stencil artist has. This is a debate over a definition... The making of a stencil requires practice to perfect, just as say tag or huge piece would take... right? I respect you in saying that you don't like stencils, whatever, don't look at them, but at least open your mind to what art is as a whole I'm not saying your wrong to have your opinion, i'm just saying your opinion is wrong

bump that^^^ and just to add my 2 cents banksy has more talent then any fool on here...dont hate just because you didnt do it first. banksy gets my respect because graffiti is something more to him then what most of us make it its a voice that many of us will never have. a battle in a war we cant fight. it has made graffiti more then just fancy designs on a wall he made it a fucking revolution. fuck haters

being in a gallery has NOTHING to do with being artistic, it has to do with being connected and having money. banksy has a great sense of humor and irony, that's why he's famous...his art is average at best. and i've got lots better to do than hate, but if all this forum is here for is to ride dick for all the big name writers than that's a fucking shame. i have alot of respect for alot of writers, but im sorry, i just don't see it with banksy.
yes i do think the stickers i made take more skill than a stencil. a few of those people are more talented than banksy, not all, but a few yes.
