my personal opinion on film is, it looks awesome and stuff, but i think its better to learn digital. that way, you don't waste money on film when you are still learning what makes a good photo. like composition and stuff like that. just my thought.

WRONG. Yes? Correct. Been on holiday in Lake Taupo, which is actually a giant crater of one of the biggest volcanic explosions in the world ever. Check the size of the lake in my photos to get an idea of how big the crater really is, and how massive the explosion would have been when it erupted. It's still a thermal area, if you dig a hole in the sand you get hot hot water. Took some photos, mainly 35mm so they will come later. Been taking pretty average photos lately, dunno why. All shot on Canon G10. I am without a DSLR at the moment, until I save the last part of my new D3.
To people that wonder why really long lenses are used for portrait work, this is why. Think of my leica as a persons face. When you shoot from far away, the face flattens, and it is much more flattering in a photograph: eg: [Broken External Image]:http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/1793/img1464m.jpg Now if you shoot close, with a reasonably wide lens, even a 50mm if you're too close, you get this: [Broken External Image]:http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/446/img1465y.jpg If that were someones face, their nose and features would be all outta wack. So kids, if you're into portraiture, buy a telephoto lens, and never shoot a portrait with a wide angle.
yeah im aware...another miniute out there and we might of just lost our fingers ...we're gonna get back out there to do some better shit in a few weeks
fuck me, whats with all this beef recently i only stick around here for the decent photos that come up ONCE in a while, not for all this bullshit yeah AK, going to party soon, any recommendations, like ISO, minimum shutter speed, errr bouncing flash off roof? anything else you can think of that canon g10 shots looks sick, 3rd one down, how much PP?
stop with the bullshit banter, i honestly think this thread needs to get unstickied, there's a bunch of people who just use this thread to get their e-thug fix for the day a few pics from the weekend, the first is over exposed on purpose btw View attachment 536353 View attachment 536354 View attachment 536355
Dine- those don't really do much for me. Things are getting cut off too much I think. Ak- some of those are really nice, I like the one of the trees a lot I'm so sick of all the stupid ass beef in here lately. Somy mom said that since she's getting my brother a ps3, I can get a lens lol. Nothing too expensive. I was going to wait to get a lens, but she's offering lol. I was thinking of a 50mm, 35mm, or a telephoto like ak was talking about for portraits. I'm leaning towards the 35mm, but I'm not really sure. Fuckk lol
I know. I did that on purpose. I usually don't use much but I was using this photo for a video and I wanted "that effect"
half a second, aperture wide open, 400 iso, if you have a low roof aim flash upward, but not straight upward. play around with shutter speed depending on how dark the room is.
