Alright well I decided it was time to get into the film game for good

Shot my first roll today, I know these are nothing special, was just trying to get a feel for things, they're shot on a Konica Auto S2, using 200 ISO kodak gold film.
This is the camera - awww.ukcamera.com_collect_images_konicas1.jpg Japanese range finder.

It's pretty old and the light meter is toast, so these were taken just using my judgment

I'll shoot some stuff tomorrow that isn't just for the sake of testing stuff out.

Nothing special, like you said. I'd say you did an excellent job of guess-exposure though. What's up with the scans?

What'cha mean? the dust/graininess on the pictures? That's from the camera's lens. Although it does look like I got a thumbprint on the first one while I was loading it into the scanner.

Oh, well on the bottom one with the wood those two blue lines are small bends in the negative that fucked the colours a bit. Don't know about the others. Will be back with a b&w roll soon.

vasucks: thanks, I appreciate it. It's definetly metro center, I'm lucky enough to live within 3 hours of NYC, 30mins of Philly, and 2hr from DC, so I got my pick of the city all the time :D

I think DC Metro is the easiest subway though.

Thinking of getting a canon s90 but would appreciate some input...ive found some on ebay for around £200 but the condition is "manufacturer refurbished" - is this something to avoid? cheers

Notice how I never post any of my film stuff here? Because it fucking blows. I love though it I spend literally 6-7 hours straight in the dark room at least 2 days a week. Develop my own film, and all my prints. But damn they just aren't good enough.

    ive had it. great jpg
i saw a review that the RAW isnt all that great with noise handling
i really liked it. main beef i had were the sluggishness of the shutter. it took forever! and the burst rate.. dont even try
people always complained about the loosejog dial that changed settigns too easily accidentally.. it was that much of a problem for me.
also it was annoying to have HDMI plug cover on the side, yet its not even HD

if you can, go with s95 if you think the HD vid will be used it also handles low light better apparently.
2 of which i really wanted on a sleek compact point and shoot.
